A Note from Mrs. Goldsworthy
We love $5 Free Dress Fridays, but we don't love all the infractions. Crop tops, tight leggings, short shorts, dangly earrings, make up and more are not within our guidelines, and make it unfair to those who do follow the guidelines. Modesty is a virtue. Teachers and staff should not have to be policing what parents are responsible for checking before a student leaves the house. The free dress days are a privilege and a needed fundraiser, and we will only be able to continue if rules are followed.
I hope to see all our families at Trunk or Treat this evening. It's such a fun event for our kiddos as they get to use their imaginations and become someone else for a bit (while getting sugared up). Don't forget to take notice of the trunks as you walk around, then vote for your favorite. There is a trophy and bragging rights up for grabs for the winner!
Next Thursday is Halloween, so that will be our costume and party day at school. While Father Jim is out of town this year, and won't be able to pick out his favorites, we will be sure to take pictures to share with him since he loves to see all the different costumes! Please make sure your child's costume follows the guidelines outlined in the graphic.
Trunk or Treat this Evening!
Our PTO's annual Trunk or Treat & Monster Mash Bash is TONIGHT, October 25th! There will be costumes, candy, and fun for our students and their families!
Trunk or Treat trick-or-treating is from 6-7pm in the south lot, with the Monster Mash Bash in the gym from 7-8pm. The 8th grade class will also have pizza, hot dogs, chips, and drinks available for purchase. Please park in the north lot.
Vision Screening on Monday
All students will receive a free vision screening at school this Monday, Oct. 28. If you want your child to receive the free screening, no action is required.
Fill out the form from your 10/23 SchoolStatus Connect message to Opt OUT of the free vision screening, and turn it to the school office by Monday morning if you do NOT want your child screened.
Due Monday! SALT Christmas Orders!
The Catholic School of St. Eugene is selling Christmas poinsettias and wreaths to help raise money for our school service program, SALT. These flowers and wreaths are just gorgeous! Place an order online at bit.ly/christmas-salt-24. Poinsettias (red, pink, or white) are $16 each and wreaths are $46 each.
All orders and payment are due to the school office by NOON October 28th. Many families collect payment from their friends and family via Venmo or CashApp, then place a single bulk order (listing themselves as pick up contact) and write one check out to the school. Poinsettias and wreaths will be available for pick up at St. Eugene church late November/early December. We will contact customers with the exact location and time. If you have questions, please contact Colleen de Keratry: cdekeratry@gmail.com
Thank you!

Eagle Excellence!
Our girls volleyball teams are wrapping up their season! Congratulations to the 4th grade team for finishing 1st in the leagues season rankings and taking 2nd place in their tournament bracket after a nail biting championship.
The 5th grade white team finished 6th out 13 teams for the season, fought their way to the semi-finals in the gold bracket, but lost after a constant lead-changing last set against Rosary, and two missed calls by the line judge. It was an exciting game!
The 5th grade orange team had a tough season struggling to find their rhythm. However, rhythm found them in the tournament silver bracket. The team secured their spot in the championship game, but fell to SEAS after trading the lead four times and getting 2nd place.
The 6th grade team finished 8th out of 13 teams in the season and couldn't' get on top in their first game of the tournament. They fought hard but lost to CTK gold.
Coaches - be sure to send team photos to yearbook@steugeneschool.org!
