Habit of the Month: Find Your Voice
Fifth Grade's Service Learning Project
Finish Strong!
The end of the school year is upon us! The signs of summer are blossoming, outside of school activities are in full swing and it gets increasingly difficult to stay focused when we know the end of the year is 15 school days away! YES! 15 days (less for seniors)!
God bestows on us many gifts. He gives us the power of our minds. Our minds are powerful by design! WE get to “choose our weather” each and every day! WE get to choose how we finish things so that all of our efforts throughout the year have not been for nothing!
I love this scripture that can help us to stay focused:
2 John 1:8 Watch out that you do not lose what we have worked so hard to achieve. Be diligent so that you receive your full reward.
The kids need our combined support and encouragement to finish the year as strong as we possibly can! We KNOW they can do it!!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Douglas

Mrs. Frick's Class Service Learning Project
For our service learning project, the 5th grade class decided to help out the Cedar Bend Humane Society. In December, we made Christmas boxes with toys and treats for the dogs to open on Christmas day. This spring, we held a blanket donation drive throughout the K-5 unit. All of the blankets are being donated to the dogs and cats at the humane society for them to get cozy and nap on. We received over thirty blankets in total. Thank you to everyone who donated, we appreciate it so much. Remember, there is still time to donate blankets. Thanks again for your support!

Middle School Service Learning
This year the K-8 students are doing service learning. In the middle school there are four classes doing service learning. Mrs. Zimmerman's homeroom is learning about recycling and what can be recycled. Also Mrs. Zimmermen’s homeroom is also helping out the can shed by giving bags to families to help them recycle. They also are helping organize the can shed once every week during Don’s hour. Mrs. Begfeld’s class is helping out feral cats by giving them homes. Mrs. Bergfeld’s class is building houses for outdoor cats. Mr. Chiccelley’s is doing a bake sale. All the money from the bake sale is going to the church. Mr. Armbruster’s class is doing trash clean up. They put up signs around town to clean up the trash. They wanted to make the town nicer and cleaner.

Thank You From the PTO
“The Bosco PTO would like to give special thanks to the Knepper Family for their generous donation of the use of their ice cream machine, and the time spent making and serving for the K-5 Ice Cream Social last evening. Your generosity created an enjoyable social time together after the wonderful spring choir concert!
Thanks also to all of the families who joined us for the ice cream social, and the donations to PTO. They will be put to good use giving back to our BCSS staff and the school community!
We hope you will consider joining the PTO and/or Fun Run Committee for next school year! You may reach out to Laura Dobson for more information.
