Happy Sunday West End Dolphin Superpod!

This week we hosted our annual book fair, and it may have been our most successful one ever! I want to thank Mrs. Mann, our media specialist, for planning and executing the book fair and the parent volunteers who showed up each day to help run the registers, aid students in counting their money, and ensure the students were able to choose books that they were excited to read! It takes every member of our #westenddolphinpodsquad to make events like this happen!

This week we have several events including our first All Pro Dad meeting of the year at Rock Springs! Join dads and students from West End, Forest Acres, and Gettys Middle at 7:00 on Wednesday! We hope to see some of our awesome dads and students in attendance.

Did you know that children can fall behind academically if they miss 10% of school days (18 days)? This September, join the Attendance Awareness Campaign and work with us to help all kids show up. Being in school supports students’ social, emotional and physical well-being, and provides students with opportunities to learn, achieve and to reach for their dreams.

During the month of September, we will be working to improve attendance school wide. We will continue our special spirit days on Fridays!

Also each homeroom is working toward a goal of having perfect attendance enough times to spell out the word ATTENDANCE letter by letter outside their classroom door! Thank you, parents, in advance for helping your child get to school each day...we appreciate your efforts!

Some of our clubs have already begun, but some are still in the enrollment phase. We've already kicked off "Boys with GRIT," "Girls with GRIT," Archery, and Running Clubs!

We are still enrolling for YAMs (3-5th), Good News Club (K-5th), West End Singers (4-5th), Festival Choir (4-5th), and Art Club (4-5th.) If you have a child in these grades that is interested in before or afterschool opportunities, please reach out to your child's teacher or Mrs. Simpson for more information!
