SPEECH RESULTS
This past Saturday, the Irondale Speech team traveled to Centennial High School for their tournament.
Results are as follows:
Boyana Nikolova earned 2nd Place in Extemporaneous Speaking, Bre Hamman and Landon Blanck earned 2nd Place in Duo Interpretation, Malaya Wesseh earned 6th Place in Creative Expression, Sam Johnson earned 7th Place in Creative Expression, Laura Braun earned 7th Place in Extemporaneous Reading. These students all placed in the "Next-in" finals: Ronorey Buyuccan earned 1st Place in Original Oratory, Teagan Rinella earned 1st Place in Prose, Samantha Bolin earned 2nd Place in Poetry, Tenzin Bhakdo earned 2nd Place in Creative Expression, Andrea Perez, Kena Abdissa, and Ronorey Buyuccan earned 2nd, 3rd, and 4 (respectively) in Discussion, Elsie Thomson earned 3rd Place in Drama, Hailey Englund earned 5th Place in Great Speeches, Samantha Bolin earned 7th Place in Extemporaneous Reading, and Keniel Ortiz earned 7th Place in Poetry.
STATE EMS YOUTH COMPETITION RESULTS
Last Saturday, Spring Lake Park Opportunities in Emergency Health Care Program hosted the 39th Annual Youth EMS Competition. 17 teams, from 4 different programs, represented 15 schools. Senior Karina Chattopadhyay took 3rd with her team.
DECA STATE COMPETITORS
Good luck to the 20 Irondale DECA Competitors this Sunday-Tuesday competing at the State DECA Competition in Minneapolis against the top 3200 Business and Marketing students across the State!

POLAR PLUNGE SURVEY
The Polar Plunge, hosted by Irondale and Edgewood's Unified Clubs, will take place at Irondale High School on Tuesday, April 1. Information on how to register will come out shortly. For now, we need your help to determine our theme. Give us your ideas by completing this survey by Friday, March 7. The idea with the most votes will be our theme for the year.

NATIONAL SCHOOL BREAKFAST WEEK
Breakfast is the BEST! Why? Because Breakfast Encourages Students to Thrive! School breakfast helps ensure students are ready to learn. Don’t forget to make eating a nutritious breakfast part of your morning routine. The District will celebrate National School Breakfast Week March 3-7. GIRLS LACROSSE
Irondale High School's Girls Lacrosse is OPEN to 7th-12th graders! Lacrosse is a fun sport & is super easy to pick up - no previous experience needed. Do something fun this spring and join the team! There will be a New Player Interest Meeting on Monday, March 3, from 4:30-5:30 (drop in) at Irondale High School in the Commons (near the main office). BOYS LACROSSE INFO MEETING
Attention students interested in playing Irondale Boys Lacrosse this spring! Coach Barry is hosting an informational lacrosse meeting for the Spring 2025 Season on Thursday, March 13, starting at 7 PM in the Irondale High School Multi-Purpose Room. No experience is necessary, just a desire to learn, work hard, and be part of the team. Coach Barry will be discussing the upcoming season, expectations, and answer questions. All interested 8th through 12th grade students and parents should attend. We are looking forward to another great season and would love for you to be part of the team! Registration will open at the end of February and the season begins March 24.
