From the Principal:
Dear St. Bernard Parents,
Happy Easter! I hope that you and your children are enjoying the continued celebration of Easter and the gift of Jesus’ Resurrection! May the significance of Jesus’ death and resurrection be ever in our hearts. It was His love for us and His desire that we should be with Him in Heaven that led Him to make the ultimate sacrifice and defeat death forever. Thanks be to God - Alleluia!
Just one month from today we will gather one final time for the 24/25 School Year! That’s right… Just one month of school remaining. Please do what you can to stay disciplined (and keep your children disciplined) through the end of the year. This is one of those life lessons and habits that goes beyond the classroom and is worth focusing on at the end of every chapter - God calls us to persevere and give our best to the end. And we have plenty to do as we finish up so stay tuned and keep these busy students in your prayers.
This weekend will be the St. Bernard “Spring Expo.” It is something a little different from year’s past, but we are excited about this new way of exhibiting St. Bernard creativity and talent. Join us in the school building on Sunday, April 27 (Divine Mercy Sunday) between 11:30 and 1:00. Check out the flyer included in this newsletter for more details on the Spring Expo.
Today is the kick-off for our Spring Parents Club Fundraiser. Flyers went home today with instructions on how you can register your children on MyBooster.org to get our fundraiser going. We again have the goal of raising $20,000 with this fundraiser. We just barely reached it last year with about 30 fewer students, so we can definitely get there this year. We would love to be able to get new chairs for our library and also replace all (or most) of the whiteboards (dry erase) throughout our building. Please do what you can to help us out. (1) Register your child! (2) Share Share Share our fundraiser and event information! (3) Donate! Our fundraiser culmination (the St. Bernard FunRun) coincides with our Olympic Day Celebration on Thursday, May 8, but let’s get the ball rolling today!
One final note for today… Please consider joining me and many other Catholics in praying a novena for the repose of the soul of Pope Francis and for the election of the new pope. This novena is set to begin TODAY, but can be prayed any time. You can find the novena I will be praying here - or you can locate it in the Intercede App. PLEASE make time to pray with your family for this cause, and for the Church in general!
Have a blessed week! Happy Easter and God bless!
Sincerely,
Mr. Ertel

Dear St. Bernard Families,

From Parents Club:
Hi All!
As we come to the end of the year we still have several exciting things coming up, including Olympic Day! Olympic Day is Thursday, May 8th (pray for beautiful weather)! For those new to the school, Olympic Day is a fun filled day for each grade to participate in various activities such as relay races, soccer, and a fun run. Students will have snacks and a pizza lunch at the fields, and then they will head to the buses to return to school. While the 8th graders run each station, we are looking for volunteers to help supervise each station and also assist with serving lunch. If you're able to help for all or part of the day, please sign up here:

Thank you!
From Athletics:
Soccer Sign-Ups!!
It is time to start thinking about fall 2025 and our soccer program. The league like to have team counts set early summer, so that means we need to start our sign-ups now. Please visit our website for the link to register for next fall.
Katie Jacob and Brad Scheper will be our coordinators this year, so please reach out to them if you have any questions.
Lunch Volunteers Needed!
We need help facilitating the distribution of lunches for the students. On normal days, we need one extra adult per day to help our staff. On pizza lunch days, we need three adults to help distribute the meals. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer!!!
***Please note, all school volunteers must be current and compliant with Safe Parish. (see below)

IMPORTANT: EDCHOICE REQUIREMENTS
Our school has 175 scholarships awarded for the 2024-25 school year. There are two important steps that I need parents to complete in order for the school to receive scholarship funds to cover tuition costs:
- For each awarded EdChoice scholarship, I must have an Acceptance Form signed and turned in at the office. Nearly everyone has signed and returned them. If you have not already, please contact me in the school office. Thank you!
- Please follow the LINK to authorize St. Bernard School to deposit funds from the scholarship checks to pay for tuition. The Ohio Department of Education issues scholarship checks on a monthly basis which require this permission to be deposited. Please take care of this immediately if you have not already. Again, most of you took care of this. Thank you!
Please contact me in the school office if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you!
Yours in Christ,
Kenny Glassmeyer, Office Manager

Please return all blue folders to school each week.
BLUE FOLDER CONTENTS THIS WEEK:
- Boosterthon Registration Flyer

Blue folders will go home with the OLDEST student in each family on Wednesdays, as needed, throughout the school year. These will contain any important handouts or forms that need to be submitted in paper form.
