Gear Up is an optional day of learning and fun for our students! Students will move through four STEM stations that peak their curiosity and are a lot of fun! Your child(ren) will have the opportunity to work with their peers and meet the teachers that are participating in their grade levels, while getting them excited about the upcoming school year. It is sure to be an exciting day! Hope to see your children there!

Gear Up will run each day from 8:30 am - 12:00 pm. Students will be dropped off at the front door like morning car line and will be picked up in the car line as well. Students will meet in the gym when they first arrive on their day and will be put into their groups. Each group will have a leader that travels with them throughout the day and each station will also have a leader. We will be providing a snack each day for the students. Free lunch is still offered in our cafeteria each day. The menu for the Gear Up week is below. If you would like your child to eat on their day, please park in the gym or lower lot and walk up to get your child and take them to lunch.

Meet the Teacher - Wednesday, August 14th, from 2:00-4:00 PM

Students and their families are invited to come to this drop in event to meet their teacher and see their new classroom!

Open House - Tuesday, September 17th, at 5:30 pm

We will meet in the gym at 5:30 pm for a 30 minute whole school meeting. We will be giving away prizes and will have an option for a meal. More info. to be announced soon!

Our goal by the beginning of school is to get enough sponsors to purchase t-shirts for all of our students this year! The business logo or name will appear on the back of all 550 t-shirts-- that's great advertisement!! We hope to wear the t-shirts throughout the year for different events, including field trips. Mrs. Caldwell, our data manager, is continuing to learn and work on our new information system, Infinite Campus. She is attending a training today that will clear up some questions about putting students in classrooms in the system. We will continue to update you about when you will be notified about who your child's teacher is. Thank you for your patience as we continue to navigate this as a school and school system.

We wanted to update you on how our Rock reservations will be done this year. If you have any questions, please let us know!

With Gear Up next week, this will be our last library day for our students and their families! We hope to see you there!! The library will be open from 10 AM to 3 PM.

Our first PTO meeting of the year will be on Thursday, August 22nd at 9 am in the school auditorium. We will be alternating between morning and afternoon meetings in hopes that all families will have a chance to attend the quarterly meetings. Notes from each meeting will be shared on the parent newsletter, along with any other pertinent PTO information. Our PTO did an amazing job last year and we look forward to another great year in 24-25! One thing some parents mentioned in our school survey is to have some PTO meetings and to share more about what PTO is purchasing and doing. That is our plans for this coming year--- super excited!!
