April 24, 2025
For this week’s spotlight, we wanted to share some exciting news about one of our outstanding third grade students, Anika Muliadikara. Anika recently competed in the prestigious Rising Stars Music Festival, an annual event hosted by the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver.
Competing in the 9–12 year old age group, Anika earned an impressive second place among talented contestants from across the state. This is a tremendous accomplishment and a testament to Anika’s dedication, hard work, and exceptional talent.
We are incredibly proud of Anika for representing PCK with such excellence. Her success is a shining example of the remarkable heights our students can reach—both academically and artistically. Please join us in congratulating Anika on this outstanding achievement.
Our Athletic Department is excited to host its final camp of the year on Tuesday, May 13. This girls' soccer camp is open to students in kindergarten through fifth grade and will take place from 3:15 to 4:35 p.m.
The session will include a variety of fun and engaging activities designed to help campers learn more about the sport. Whether your child is brand new to soccer or already has experience, there will be something for every athlete to enjoy and grow their skills.

We are currently recruiting for the 2025–2026 school year and would like to highlight our opening for the position of Preschool Director.
As always, our school community plays an essential role in shaping the heart of our program. We deeply value the connection we have with our families and believe that you reflect the values and spirit that make our school special. If you know someone who would like to be considered for this role, please click the button below for more information about the position and how to apply.
Additional openings are also available—please visit our Careers page to explore all current opportunities.
Tomorrow, Friday, April 25 is the final day to make yearbook purchases! To purchase your yearbook, please use PCK’s unique school code: 1015343699083637. All orders must be placed through Treering.com.
We would like to inform our families that the Late Testing Lab will be cancelled on Wednesday, April 30, and Friday, May 2. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Students who normally attend the Late Testing Lab can be picked up at their usual carpool times on these days.
Our Art Department is currently working on an exciting class project and is in need of yarn donations to bring it to life. We are accepting yarn of any color and any size ball—whatever you’re able to contribute is greatly appreciated.
If you’d like to donate, please drop off your yarn at the Front Office anytime between now and Friday, May 2. Thank you for your generosity in supporting our Art Department!
As we move closer to the end of the school year, we’d like to take a moment to remind everyone of the importance of practicing respectful carpool etiquette.
Our carpool volunteers are dedicated PCK staff members who generously give their time to ensure that every student is greeted with care and safely transitioned from car to classroom and back again. Their commitment plays a vital role in maintaining the welcoming and secure environment we value so highly at PCK.
We kindly ask that all families demonstrate kindness, patience, and respect during drop-off and pick-up. If you have any questions or concerns about our carpool procedures, we encourage you to reach out directly to our Carpool Coordinator, Ms. Mace, at smace@ckcs.net who will be happy to assist you.
Field Day volunteer sign-ups are officially open! While the big day is still a little ways off, planning is already underway—and we’re counting on your support to help make it another unforgettable event for our students.
We have over 80 volunteer slots that still need to be filled to keep the day running smoothly and our students energized and engaged. That might sound like a lot, but every hand helps.
If you’re able to lend a hand, we’d be incredibly grateful. Just click the button below to view opportunities and sign up.
Fiddler on the Roof Programming Considerations
Fiddler on the Roof is a classic musical theatre production featured prominently in the Core Knowledge Curriculum. Because of its connection to our curriculum, we have chosen to produce this show again on the PCK stage, but it is prudent to provide some storyline details for parents.
Fiddler is set in an Eastern European Shtetl around the time of the Russian Revolution and pre-World War II and was first performed in 1964. That said, we understand the world has changed significantly since the musical was first penned, and adjustments must be made. Originally, there was a staged pogrom at the end of Act 1. Yet, the PCK Music department feels strongly that there is a way to honor history and the story without reenactment; therefore, we have developed a poignant and deeply respectful scene. After all, between the lines of the story and in real life, many innocent people were caught in a dark time.
We have worked hard to portray this story with empathy and respect, and have been steadfast in conveying the true message of Fiddler—hope. There is always hope, and this story has much to teach us all.
We welcome everyone to this family-friendly production and look forward to seeing you there!
We are pleased to announce the results of the recent PCK Board of Directors election. Congratulations to Erik Glenn (incumbent), Katherine Carroll, and Ashley Richter on their election to the Board. Their commitment to our school community is truly commendable, and we look forward to the positive contributions they will bring in the years ahead.
As we begin this new chapter, we recognize the vital role the Board plays in shaping the educational experience of our students. With their combined expertise and dedication, Mr. Glenn, Ms. Carroll, and Ms. Richter are well-positioned to support and enhance our school’s continued growth and success.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all the candidates who participated in this election. Your willingness to serve and your dedication to the future of our school are deeply appreciated.
The End-of-Year Survey for the 2024–25 school year is now open and will remain available until Tuesday, May 13 at 4:00 p.m.
Each year, this survey helps us reflect on what’s working well and where we can grow as a school community. Your feedback is especially helpful as we look to improve fundraising efforts and strengthen communication between families and school organizations. The survey includes a variety of questions, but none are required—we truly appreciate any input you’re able to share. Every voice matters, and your thoughts play a big role in shaping the future of PCK.
We’ll be reviewing the results at our meeting on May 14, and we’re excited to use your insights to help our school.
This week, we are proud to shine our Volunteer Spotlight on Sehzat Oner for his wonderful support in our first grade tech classes.
Having extra hands during tech time makes a big difference—not only for our teachers, but for our students, who truly enjoy the added support and engagement. Sehzat’s presence has been a huge help in creating a positive, hands-on learning environment, and we are so grateful for the time and energy he gives to our school.
Thank you, Sehzat, for being such a valuable part of our community!
