FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents
Congratulations to our Year Three children as they celebrated the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Tuesday at Our Lady of the Missions Church. It was a beautiful celebration and the children were so respectful and reverent whilst receiving the sacrament. Thank you to the Year Three teachers Mrs Bubnich, Mrs Prior and Mr O’Mara for preparing the children so beautifully and to Father Cyprian, Father Francis and all the priests who came along to assist.
Please encourage your children to receive this sacrament on a regular basis so that they can deepen their relationship with Jesus and ask him to help them make good choices in their daily lives.
Feast of All Saints and All Souls
1 November it is the feast of All Saints whereby we honour all of our saints and the great inspiration they are for us all. On Wednesday Father Francis celebrated a mass with PP-Yr6 in honour of All Saints.

CURRICULUM
Early Childhood Education
''Igniting Curiosity, Empowering Minds''
Our Pre-Primary students recently embarked on an exciting inquiry-based learning journey, where they explored the world around them using the ‘Think, See, Wonder’ approach. These experiences encouraged curiosity, critical thinking, and
As part of this journey, we had the wonderful opportunity to visit AQWA. The students were captivated by the vibrant sea life and underwater ecosystems, which sparked a flurry of questions and observations. From marvelling at the majestic sharks and stingrays to wondering about the coral reefs, the children’s imaginations and scientific curiosity were truly ignited.
Back in the classroom, the students documented their discoveries and thoughts through artwork, discussions, and research projects. We created a special ‘Under the Sea Inquiry’ corner where they displayed their work and continued exploring ocean life. Their enthusiasm was inspiring, and who knows—we might have some future marine biologists in the making!

Waste Free Wednesdays
It has been wonderful to see so many lunchboxes packed with minimal plastics each Wednesday! Your commitment to using reusable containers, water bottles, and utensils has made a real difference in reducing waste at Padbury Catholic Primary School. Let's keep up the fantastic effort as we head toward the end of the year, nurturing responsible and environmentally conscious habits in our students.

SPORT
Interschool
Over the past two weeks Padbury Catholic has participated in Interschool Basketball and Cricket.
On Tuesday 15th October 40 Year 5/6 students took part in a basketball tournament at Warwick Leisure Centre. The quality of the basketball was elite throughout the day and all our teams enjoyed some fantastic games.
The Girls teams were unstoppable, winning all games to go through the tournament undefeated. Congratulations girls on an amazing day.
The Boys ‘A’ team played with competitive spirit and were unlucky to not win more games. They finished the day with 2 wins and 6 losses. The Boys ‘B’ team also had a fantastic day remaining undefeated from their nine matches. They won seven and drew two games. The highlight of the day was Bailey DeMaio sinking a shot on the buzzer to tie a game against St Peters. Well done Bailey!
Thanks to Mr Darby and Mr Burke for assisting with coaching and the preparation of the teams.
On Tuesday October 22nd students participated in Interschool Cricket at Seacrest Reserve in Sorrento. It was a beautiful Spring Day for cricket with 6 schools participating from our local NIPSSA group.
The day was another successful carnival for our students. The Boys ‘team 1’ won every game to be the best performing team on the day. The Boys ‘team 2’ narrowly lost one game by 5 runs and won all other encounters.
The Girls ‘team 1’ won four out of five games and the girls ‘Team 2’ won 2 games from their fixtures.
Thanks to Mr O’Mara and Mrs Cruse for assisting with umpiring and scoring.
This interschool carnival was our final sport event for 2024. We look forward to more activities in 2025.
