First Day of School! First Day of School!

The school year is off to an amazing start! And how could it not when you start the first day of the school year with donuts? A huge shout out to our Honour Societies for keeping one of our favorite traditions alive by supplying a steady supply of teal donuts to kick off the school year!

The start of the school year also marked the launch of WeTip - an anonymous way to report any safety concerns directly to the school. The system is easy to use, allowing students, parents, and the community to report any concerns at any time.

Posters with QR codes that link to the reporting system are being placed in every classroom and are also available at the front of the student planners. Additionally, the link can be found on our wesite, or by clicking the image to the left.

Every Day Matters Every Day Matters

Every school day is an opportunity for your child to learn something new, build on previous knowledge, and develop essential social skills. Consistent attendance helps ensure your child is keeping pace with their peers and not missing out on important lessons that contribute to their academic success.

  • Each day's lessons build on the previous day's work. Missing even a day can make it difficult for your child to catch up.
  • Studies show that students who attend school regularly are more likely to perform well academically. Consistent attendance is key to mastering the skills and knowledge needed for future success.

We understand that children may occasionally need to miss school due to illness or other unavoidable circumstances. If you have any concerns about your child's attendance, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's school. we are here to support you and your child.

Multiple Intelligences Multiple Intelligences

Multiple Intelligences (MI's) are the foundation of OPA's philosophy and instructional approach. It states that each of us possesses eight intelligences that characterize the way we learn. This approach allows for differentiated instruction in the classroom allowing for students to learn, comprehend, and retain information due to receiving instruction in a variety of methodologies.

The use of MI's can be found in all OPA classrooms at every grade level. To learn more about the Theory of Multiple Intelligences, visit our website: https://www.opaschools.org/apps/pages/Multiple-Intelligences

New classroom at SOC!

This summer we converted the locker room at SOC into a new classroom to make room for more student learning! (With the movement of middle school to their own campus, there was no longer a need for the locker room.)

Thank you to our facilities team who spent their summer working on many projects getting all of our schools ready for our champions. We appreciate you!
