Classic Photography will return on Tuesday, November 12 for our Fall Individual Student Portrait retake day. Most students will not be sitting for pictures.

School Book Fair (Sponsored by Beall PTA)
The PTA is excited to be working with Literati for the book fair this year! Put simply, a book fair is a fundraising event where students and families can purchase books in-person or online. The online fair is live!
Preview Day
All classes will get a chance to preview the book options this Friday or Monday. During their class visits, students will write down their wish lists! Throughout the rest of the week, students will then be able to return to the book fair to shop!
Shopping Hours
The fair will be open during the school day beginning at 9:00 am and ending at 5:00 pm. There are special extended hours from 6:30 pm-8:00 pm on Thursday (same time as our PTA meeting!). Parents are welcome and encouraged to come to the book fair with their children after school.
Volunteer
In order for students to purchase books during the day, we need volunteers! Please consider signing up for a shift during the school day on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and/or Friday. If you can't cover a full shift, sign up and comment with the hours you're able to cover. Volunteers get 20% off in-person purchases. (We are not offering SSL hours for the book fair!)
Purchasing Gift Cards
You may want to purchase a gift card for your child to use instead of having them carry cash, purchase a gift card for someone else, or share with relatives who would like to purchase a gift card for the student. Follow these directions!
- Gift cards can be added to a purchase online at fairs.literati.com
- The customer enters in the recipient’s email address at checkout.
- Once purchased, the gift card code will be delivered via email. Please have recipients check their inbox, spam, or junk folders if they are unable to locate their gift card code.
- To redeem in person, the cashier enters the code on the register or scans the printed barcode. To redeem online, the recipient inputs the code at checkout.
Join the Literati Book Club
As part of a special book fair offer, you can sign up for Literati's book club and get up to $50 in free books. You can sign up at literati.com/fallclubs. Signing up during the offer period also helps your school earn up to $50 in book fair rewards that directly benefits students. Other reasons to join:
- Kids find book club deliveries exciting: it’s like getting a book fair in a box, every month!
- Each book box is personalized based on a child’s interests and reading level, helping kids build vocabulary, confidence, and a love of reading.
- Each monthly box includes thoughtfully chosen books, personalized stickers, frameable artwork, and surprise extras.

City of Rockville’s annual Holiday Drive
Message from City of Rockville
Please join your neighbors in supporting the City of Rockville’s annual Holiday Drive. In what has become an annual tradition, businesses, individuals, civic groups, schools, foundations and the faith community all contribute time and resources to make the holidays special for the less fortunate in our area. Last year, we served 700 Rockville households, including senior citizens, for Thanksgiving and we served 1,200 children and teens in December. We would not be able to serve the needs of these families without the help that we receive from local businesses like yours! This year, we will be giving canned goods, produce, baked goods, and a gift card for Thanksgiving and toys, books, and gift card for children and teens for December.
As we approach this time of giving, I ask that you consider making a donation in one of the following ways:
- Send a contribution – Tax-deductible monetary contributions will be used to purchase gift cards for Thanksgiving and books and gift cards in December. Donations can be made online at www.rockvillemd.gov/holidaydrive. Checks can be made payable to the City of Rockville (please add Rockville Holiday Drive Fund in the memo line) and mailed to our Community Services Division office in Rockville’s City Hall, 111 Maryland Avenue, 1st Floor, Rockville, MD 20850.
- Donate gift cards: $25 Target for teens or $15 Giant Food for families for Thanksgiving. Gift cards can be dropped off at the same address as above.
- Volunteering – sort and bag produce and canned goods and/or books and toys for December; deliver. Go to City volunteer website to sign up (https://cityofrockville.galaxydigital.com/need).
- Donate goods: bring canned goods and/or books and toys to any city building.
Every gift, large or small, is used to support families in our community. Donations over $500 will be honored by the Rockville Mayor and Council through Rockville Reports. For more information about the Holiday Drive, please visit the website or call us at 240-314-8300. And, if you prefer to receive this letter via email going forward, please let us know by sending an email to hd@rockvillemd.gov. Thank you for helping to make the holidays special for everyone in Rockville!
It is not too late to join the Parent Teacher Association (PTA). The PTA supports Beall students in a variety of ways, including after -school programs, cultural arts programs, social activities, fundraising and parent workshops. The PTA also supports student learning by funding programs, technology and staff support. See their website for more information or registration forms.
