Overview of Transition Services Parent Meeting
The Los Angeles Unified School District’s Office of Transition Services (DOTS) is hosting an informational meeting for parents/families about Transition Services and programs offer to students 14+ with an IEP. Cell Phone Policy
LAUSD will implement a smartphone policy with the goal of supporting students’ academic success and wellbeing. Here at LHS, students will be Responsible and only use earphones, cell phones and/or any other electronic devices before school, during lunch, and after school. Students will be Responsible and place their cell phones in the cell phone box during every instructional period.
Student Drop Off/Pick Up
The main entrance is on Broadway and will be open from 7:45am-3:45pm. Students may also enter school at the Alta Street gate and at the Lincoln Park Avenue gate from 7:45am-8:30am. After school the Alta Street and Broadway gates will close at 3:45pm. The Lincoln Park Avenue gate will close at 5pm.

Lincoln Library Extended Hours
Lincoln Library is excited to share expanded hours programs starting on September 16th before and after school that will also earn students community service hours.
Mondays join Mr. Brewer before and after school from 8AM to 4PM for "Poetry & Prose" where you will read and write poetry (and prose) then participate on open mic nights @ our local independent bookstore The Libros, right across the street.
Tuesdays and Fridays join Ms. Moayeri @ 8AM for "Mindful Mornings" where we will start our day with some meditation, relaxation, games and general chilling out to ward off stress and anxiety.
Wednesdays join Ms. Kristiansen before and after school from 8AM to 4PM for "Films & Fanzines" where you will share your love of the screen, big or small, and create a handmade personal magazine aka fanzine to exhibit your passion.
Thursdays join Ms. Crabree & Ms. Moayeri after school for "Battle of the Books" where we will read some fun titles then go head-to-head with other high schools, annihilating their book knowledge for a trophy, free food, free books and best of all, bragging rights.

EBT Card Program
The district recently became aware that the State is using Household Income Form eligibility information to determine eligibility for the summer EBT card program, also known as the sun-Bucks program. Qualifying families (free and reduced meals) may receive up to $120 dollars. Families can complete and submit Household Family Income Forms online at https://hif.lausd.net/ The California Department of Social Services is posting more details on their website, which you can access at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/sun-bucks.
Community Service @ LAPL Lincoln Heights Branch
The Lincoln Heights Branch of the Los Angeles Public Library is offering volunteer hours, in-person or virtually, for Lincoln students. Students can reach out to our LHS librarian Ms. Moayeri, or they can reach out to Ms. Kelcey Soderstrom, the young adult librarian at the branch. Ms. Kelcey is very nice, volunteering is easy and fun, and students can get up to 20 hours per month! Remember that community service hours are a requirement for student’s senior portfolios before graduation.
