Attendance Recovery
In order to meet the TEA attendance requirements (90% Rule)for the first semester, students cannot have more than 4 absences (excused or unexcused) for any class. If you have more than four absences, you will need to go to attendance recovery. It will be every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM. Each attendance recovery session will help you regain one absence (one class period). Attendance Recovery will be in Mrs. Anguiano's room (142) or Ms. Snow's room (158). You must be on time and stay the entire time in order to receive the credit. Students are not able to bank hours ahead of time. Only students who are over the allowable amount of absences are permitted to stay in attendance recovery. Yo will be required to do school work or read a book. You may not use your cell phones. Chromebook smay only be used for school assignments.

Alumni Feature--Meet Amy Mendoza Leonor Class of 2000
Amy Mendoza Leonor, MBA, is a seasoned healthcare marketing executive with over 20 years
of driving growth for Fortune 500 and Inc. 5000 companies. As VP of Corporate Marketing at
Vyne Corp., she oversees brand strategy and business development in dental and medical
markets, recently leading Vyne to become a Digital Health Hub Award quarterfinalist. A former
dental marketing agency owner serving over 500 clients nationwide, Amy is also a founding
board member of Women in DSO®, a non-profit dedicated to empowering women in dental
leadership. Passionate about mentorship, she speaks regularly at conferences, including the
ADA SmileCon Conference and Empower and Grow, to share her insights on branding,
strategic marketing, and engagement.
Intramurals Volleyball Tournament
There will be a Volleyball tournament during after school intramurals on Wednesday, November 20th from 4:30-6:00. Get your teams together, and let's see who really is the best team on campus. Come with your team or as an individual. See Coach Turner for more information.

As part of her other after school extracurricular activities, Mariko passed the screening and joined the Youth Leadership Council of UT Teen Health. They meet once or twice every month. Mariko or Miya submitted an entry for their t-shirt design contest and the entries were from other youth from other high schools, Mariko’s design won.
Northside College Fair
11th and 12th grade students and their guardians are invited to Northside ISD’s annual College Fair. See flier for time and location information.
The NISD College Night is an extraordinary event that provides 11th and 12th grade students and their guardians with an opportunity to become more familiar with more than 100 institutions of higher education from all over Texas and the nation. This interaction with representatives from various colleges and universities is informative and valuable as students gather information to make the very best choices for their future educational endeavors.
Juniors and seniors, please pre-register for College Night. That way, colleges can scan your info. on the spot, giving you more time to check things out.

Congratulations Mariko Sanchez!
As part of her other after school Extracurricular activities, Mariko Sanchez passed the screening and joined the Youth Leadership Council of UT Teen Health. They meet once or twice every month since August. Mariko submitted an entry for her t-shirt design contest and the entries were from other youth from other high schools, Mariko’s design won.
These are the designs she did for UT Teen Health and YLC. One for the whole UT Teen Health, and the colored ones represent each of the zones that are part of the YLC.
IMPORTANT--ID Badges
Freshmen and Incoming Sophomores new to Health Careers will be able to get their ID badges for free. Returning students needing an ID replacement will need to pay $5.00.
IDs can be purchased before school only in the front office.

Meet Karoll's Cat!
Stella follows Karoll where ever she goes talking to Karoll all the time. When Karoll is not at home Stella looks out the window by the door until she comes back home.Stella was a rescue cat from the animal shelter and has been a welcome addition to our family. She was 2 months old when we adopted her and is now 2 and a half.
She is one of four animals in our home (two dogs Marble - a catahoula hound and Twinkie - miniature blond dachshund, & last but not least is Tera a box turtle that is exactly one month older than Karoll)

This little guy hasn't gained much weight after three weeks but he has a lot of energy. After a long walk, he climbed right into my lap. He is getting to me...

Friendly Reminder--Lunch Deliveries
Due to allergies, COVID and other health concerns, we will not be allowing any outside food to be delivered to or brought to the campus. Students who have off campus lunch will not be allowed to bring any food back to the campus. Parents bringing a forgotten lunch for their own child may bring it in a lunch box/bag or a plain brown bag labeled with the student's name. Food and drink are not allowed in the classrooms. Students may carry a water bottle.
