Week at Windsor 2.23.20
Looking back and ahead at Windsor news and happenings...
Dear Windsor Families,
Here is this weekend's message. We hope you have been enjoying the sunshine and warmer weather the past two days. It is difficult to believe that the week ahead marks the end of the month of February!
Teachers will begin working on 2nd trimester progress reports this week and the following week. Progress reports will be emailed home (similar to 1st trimester) to parents/guardians on Friday, March 6th.
During the month of March, all third through fifth grade students will participate in the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) assessment. This assessment is built to evaluate students on the Illinois Learning Standards. All students in these grade levels are tested in English Language Arts and Mathematics. We will send home more information and each grade level's testing schedule next weekend. In the meantime, students will need headphones for these assessments. While most students already have headphones at school, some may still need to bring them in, if they never brought a pair to school or if they are not working properly.
We are looking forward to our last week of the American Heart Association's Kids Heart Challenge. Many thanks to all of the students and families who have participated. There is still time! Our challenge will come to an end this Friday, February 28th. (More information below.) This week we will be doing some final school-wide activities to help celebrate and promote healthy habits around moving more, spreading kindness, and being prepared!
Wishing you all the best,
Piper Boston, Principal @PrincipalBoston
Lindsay Anastacio, Assistant Principal @lindzana

We have been doing great work as a school. Every Heart Hero has a very important message to share about heart health so be sure to ask your student what they learned from their new lifesaver friends!
Every single dollar raised will help kids and families build healthier lives. We are so proud of our school community for making such a big difference! Thank you for being a Heart Hero!

ABC/25 Grants
As a staff, we applied for and received different grants to support reading, growth mindset, STEM learning, recording/podcasting, enrichment games, flexible seating, etc. As a school, we have also been awarded grant monies simply because of our community's commitment to joining ABC/25. Thank you! The April Get Burbed event is another way to support the ABC/25 Foundation.
Special Math Challenge
Social Invitations, etc. at School
- Not wanting any children to be/feel excluded,

When families join the Windsor PTA they gain access to our our school directory spot with other families who have elected to share their contact information. Here is a link with more information. If coordinating any kind of social activity, please use the PTA directory spot and plan communication outside of our school campus/hours.
