SCSD PowerSchool Update
We wanted to provide an update regarding our recent transition to PowerSchool Student Information System.
As you are aware, we have encountered some challenges during the transition, which we are actively working to resolve. Notably, there may have been discrepancies in the weighted grades displayed in the system. Please be assured that our Tech Department has diligently addressed this issue to ensure all grades are accurately reflected.
In the meantime, if you have any concerns regarding your child’s grades or any other aspect of the PowerSchool transition, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's school. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate these challenges.

Blackhurst Reading Program with Craftsman
Blackhurst Bobcats were greeted with a challenge this morning! Students were presented with the school's annual reading program in which students are asked to read at home 20 minutes a day M-Th with a total school goal of 625,000 minutes! The theme this year is "Truckin' Ahead with Books" and is sponsored by Craftsman Trailers.
The fine folks at Craftsman will be putting together rewards and parties for students who achieve their goals and helped kick off the program by bringing some trucks and trailers for students to tour today!
Let's go Bobcats, you can do this!
Lincoln 4th graders celebrate Constitution Day
Lincoln 4th grade took a moment to learn about the United States Constitution. We spent a lot of time reading the Preamble, which sets forth the goals of the Constitution, and we read a book called "Unite or Die: How the Thirteen States Became a Nation". This book taught us about the history of the Constitution and how it was created.
We also performed a reader's theater for other classes at Lincoln, where students acted as different states. This was a great way to learn about the Constitution and to share our knowledge with others.
SCSD Reading Success Plans
In response to the State of Missouri Senate Bill 681 regarding Reading Success Plans, SCSD will be testing Kindergarten-6th grade students through a state-approved assessment program, iReady. We care deeply about the success of all of our students and believe adding this additional assistance will only strengthen their skills in literacy and provide another layer of support for students who need it most.
If your student is identified to need a Reading Support Plan, your student's teacher will communicate this to you during October parent/teacher conferences along with how your student's education team will work to support your student and work with you to provide support at home.
We look forward to working together with you to help our students achieve even greater success through this added support.

Blackhurst Learning Partnership
Subaru-St. Peters selected Blackhurst Elementary for the year's Subaru Loves Learning partnership. The school received a $7,500 credit through a nonprofit partner, AdoptAClassroom.org, so Blackhurst teachers can purchase the classroom supplies our students need to learn and thrive. We look forward to deepening our partnership with Subaru-St. Peters in the weeks and years to come.
