Sabre Families,

As we welcome the month of March with the upcoming warming trend and the signs of an early spring, it is also a time we will gain clarity around the budget and education in Alberta. The budget was announced this past week and what we do know is that the province has developed a new funding framework for education with the overall education budget being frozen for the next three years. In the coming weeks, we look forward to knowing more about the impact and what it looks like for our school division and more specifically at Salisbury.

On a school front, we offer congratulations to the Sal Curling players and coaches for making it to the Metro Final this past week! Also this week, our Sabre Basketball teams are in Division one playoffs and we wish them the best of luck. A new season of play is starting with Badminton and Handball tryouts. Stay tuned for Soccer and Rugby information as well.

It is also an exciting time for our Fine Art students with Musical Theatre, Drama, and Band performances over the next couple of months. For all times and dates of shows, please refer to the calendar.

If you have a grade 12 student who has volunteered their time either in the community or at Salisbury during their high school years, and have definite post-secondary goals for a trade or apprenticeship program, college or university, and/or if they are in a position of financial need, please go to the student graduation page to check out which scholarship they may be eligible to apply for. All applications are available online in a fillable PDF format. Deadline to apply is April 30, 2020 unless otherwise noted by the scholarship.
