Philanthropic Partnerships Supporting Frontier Schools
In 2019, Frontier Schools launched a significant initiative to connect with community foundations and corporations, sharing their remarkable story of academic excellence in Kansas City. Since the program's inception, this outreach has generated over $4 million in support. These vital funds have enhanced numerous academic programs, student health and safety initiatives, and capital projects such as the solar car program and the STEM Innovation Lab.
Superintendent Demircan reflects, "This has truly been a collaborative effort, involving our administration, faculty, and, most importantly, our students. When funding partners visit our schools, it’s the students sharing how these grants help them pursue their dreams that makes all the difference."
Frontier Schools extends heartfelt appreciation to the following philanthropic partners, whose generosity has been instrumental in making these achievements possible:

Learning Through Play: Henderson Engineers Inspire FSE Students
Today, students at FSE had a special visit from Henderson Engineers, who shared their expertise and experiences in an engaging and interactive session. The engineers introduced themselves, providing insight into their backgrounds and career paths, sparking curiosity and inspiration among the students.
Following their introductions, the engineers led a hands-on activity designed to encourage teamwork, problem-solving, and perseverance. Students were divided into groups of ten and tasked with passing a ping pong ball from one teammate to another using only a cup—without dropping it. The challenge required focus, coordination, and determination. In the end, the team that successfully completed the task with the best performance received a prize as a reward for their efforts.
After the activity, the Henderson team facilitated a discussion, asking students to reflect on what they had observed. They left the students with an inspiring message: In life, people may "drop the ball" on you, but what truly matters is your decision to keep going and never give up.
It was an exciting and meaningful experience for the students, reinforcing important life skills through fun and interactive learning.
