Light Up Our School With Kindness!
Next we we are going to light up Salford Hills with kindness! Your child can participate by wearing items described in the flyer below. Students will also be working to fill a light bulb in their classroom with at least 10 moments of kindness they experience next week. We are looking forward to a great week of kindness!
Salford Hills Winter Concert December 20th, 7:00pm at Indian Valley Middle School
We are all looking forward to the Salford Hills Winter Concert! Our band, orchestra and chorus have been hard at work preparing wonderful holiday music for you to enjoy. Mrs. Gribbin and Ms. Chavous have already sent home detailed information to band, orchestra and chorus students. Please see the below bulleted reminders:
- Band, orchestra, and chorus students need to report at 6:30pm.
- The dress for the concert participants is "Picture Day Nice."
- Parents, please save a seat for your musician. They will return to this seat during times in the concert when they are not performing.
- Please park on either side lot at Indian Valley. Please do not park in the front of the school unless you require a handicapped parking space.
- Expect the concert to last about 1 hour and 40 minutes.
Winter Socials Next Friday!
Our Winter Socials will be held next Friday, December 22nd! Our students are always excited for this day! A big thank you goes out to our homeroom parents and parent volunteers who all help to make these events a success!
First Grade Winter Workshop
On Tuesday December 19th our 1st grade students will travel to the Winter Workshop. At the Winter Workshop the high school students help the first graders build winter themed projects, work in the TV studio, and play fun winter themed games. This is always a favorite activity for our first grade students, as well as, the high school students.

New Grand Champions
Lego Fun in Tech Class
Students in all grades have been using the LEGO Spike kits during computer science class over the past couple of class periods. In grades K-2, students learned about input and output devices and programmed the devices to spin, light up, and view colors using their iPad. In grades 3-4, students followed step by step building instructions and then programmed those items to perform a specific task. Lastly, 5th grade students used both the Spike Essential kit and the Spike Prime kits to extend their learning and stretch their imaginations!
Reading Olympics Kickoff
Our Reading Olympics teams kicked off their reading season this week. These teams will read several chapter books, and then answer comprehension questions in a competition against other Montgomery County schools.
Kindergarten Bakery
Kindergarten has been learning all about bakeries during Playshop. Each classroom opened their own bakery. Bakers mixed, baked, and delivered gingerbread cookies to friends around Salford Hills.

Mobile Device Use Agreement for 2023-2024
In preparation for your child's use of a 1-to-1 device in the 2023-2024 school year, please complete the Mobile Device Use Agreement and pay the device protection fee. Please see the details below.
1-to-1 EQUIPMENT: STUDENT DEVICES/CHARGERS/CASES
COMPLETE AGREEMENT / PAY FEE
Each year, the student/parent mobile device use agreement must be completed, and the device protection fee must be paid, via one of the methods below.
- Option 1 - Complete agreement and pay fee online.
*Note: If you have never paid through Pay Online/RevTrak, you will need to create an account.
- Option 2 - Print agreement and make payment in-person: Complete and sign the Student/Parent Agreement (English | Spanish | Vietnamese). Please send the signed agreement and payment for the device fee to school with your child.
***Student ID's can be found in your Home Access Center Account***
Devices will be distributed to students during the first week of school.
