Our first ever TRUNK-or-TREAT!
A safer alternative to walking the neighborhood!
Have you ever heard of a trunk-or-treat? Trunk-or-treating is an alternative to traditional trick-or-treating where parents/guardians gather their vehicles in one spot, typically a parking lot, open their trunks, and give out candy as children walk from car to car. Some candy-givers decorate their trunks with Halloween scenes and themes. Unlike traditional trick-or-treating, which involves going door-to-door, Trunk-or-Treat is centralized in a designated area, emphasizing community engagement and safety. Plus there will be other activities for the whole family to enjoy!
You bring the candy to hand out and trunk decor (if you want) and Odyssey will do the rest!
Please join us as we host our very first Trunk-or-Treat Halloween Bash
October 31st, 5-7 PM
Back parking lot near the ramada
Peter Piper Boo Bash
The Peter Piper Boo Bash has become an Odyssey family favorite and for good reason. There are lots of restaurants in Buckeye that host mealtime fundraisers for schools but none compare to our Boo Bash! Join us Thursday, October 24th between 4pm and 8pm to see what it's all about. There will be games, competitions, book readings and book giveaways! It is a great opportunity to meet new friends and visit with old friends too! Come join the party!

Let's talk about t-shirt days!
At Odyssey we believe the school uniform is important for our learning environment, however...it's nice to have some variety. Here at the Apache campus we have 2 types of t-shirt days, $1 T-Shirt Day and TOPA T-Shirt Day. On these select days your scholar may dress out of uniform. Here are the guidelines for each day:
$1 T-Shirt Day
On these select days your scholar(s) may wear any school appropriate t-shirt that matches the theme of the day. It's a small fundraiser for our Ambassador Club and the club members will be responsible to collect and account for the funds as part of their club duties. These t-shirt days are often scheduled close to the Apache special events and the theme will match. This first event is a dance...so any music theme or dance theme shirt will work. $1 T-Shirt Day is Thursday, August 15th. Simply send in $1 with your scholar and the club members will come to their class to collect it. The Ambassador Club thanks you for your support!
FREE TOPA T-Shirt Day
TOPA (short for The Odyssey Preparatory Academy) hosts a scholar assembly every month to celebrate accomplishments, it's called the KUDOS Assembly. On these days we allow our scholars to wear any TOPA t-shirt. TOPA T-shirts may be obtained in a variety of ways. You may purchase them at the spirit store but you might already own one. Any TOPA Field Day or FunRun shirt will work...from any year.
TOPA T-Shirt days are generally on the last THURSDAY of each month. Exact dates will be posted here. AUGUST 29TH
🌟Uniform bottoms and athletic shoes are still required. Participation is voluntary.🌟

Birthday Celebrations
October Babies
Please wait to deliver treats to your class for just a bit! At Odyssey we hold birthday celebrations for the entire class on the last Thursday of the month. This month's celebration will be held on Thursday, October 31st (unless your teacher schedules it another day).
For October: This week will be Spirit Week...stay tuned for more information on the other fun days of the week but the last day of SPIRIT WEEK is always costume day. (no masks or face paint that makes the scholar unrecognizable, uniform bottoms or other appropriate bottom must be worn underneath if applicable, they do not need to wear uniform bottoms if the costume covers them appropriately, NO PROPS or other items that might be a distraction in class. NO SCARY costumes. Scholars must wear uniforms if not dressing up. More info to come.
Pro tip: This is also Argonaut day...feel free to wear any Argonaut or TOPA T-shirt on this day!
