CLEARWATER STEAM NEWSLETTER
Home of the Dolphins - October 14- 18, 2024
Welcome Back Clearwater Elementary STEAM Families,
We’re so proud of the incredible partnerships that help make our events at Clearwater truly special!
Our Science Olympiad team had the fantastic opportunity to attend STEPCon, a student STEM conference organized by our amazing partners at RCOE. Our 3rd graders teamed up with the city for a hands-on visit to the Perris Garden, bringing their learning to life. We also joined forces with the community for Walk to School, where the Perris Sheriff's Department walked and rode alongside our families and students, creating a safe and supportive atmosphere. To top it all off, Perris High cheerleaders, Larry the Lion, and our very own Dolphin mascot were there to cheer everyone on, spreading school spirit and fun!
These partnerships are at the heart of our commitment to providing enriching experiences for our Clearwater Dolphins!
STEPCon - STEM Student Conference
Targeted for students in grades 4 through 12, this event truly broadened their horizons and sparked their passion for STEM. Our students returned to campus buzzing with excitement and inspiration, and we can’t wait to make this incredible opportunity a yearly tradition for our Clearwater Dolphins!
Perris Garden Field Trip
Our 3rd grade students had a fantastic opportunity to partner with the city on a field trip to the Perris Garden, which directly aligns with their current Project-Based Learning (PBL) unit. This hands-on experience set the stage for deeper understanding, making their learning even more powerful and engaging. The PBL unit integrates all academic content areas while also focusing on environmental awareness, civic responsibility, nutrition, and real-world applications. By exploring the garden, our students gained valuable insights that will enrich their project work, helping them see how their learning extends beyond the classroom and into the community. This day truly brought their studies to life, enhancing their knowledge and inspiring them to think critically about the world around them!
Thank you to the 3rd grade team for making this day happen!
National Walk to School Day
On Wednesday, we had Clearwater's Walk to School Day. Thank you to all the families who joined us in this community-building event that began at the corner of Murrieta Road and Citrus. Thank you to the Perris Traffic Officers, Perris High School Cheerleaders, and Larry the Lion for supporting our event.
Special thanks to Ms. Baker for organizing this wonderful event! Thank you DJ Ochoa and to the teachers and staff who walked with families!
