Coming Up This Week At Woodside
Only 2 More Days!
Can you believe we are in our final days of the school year?? Here's what scheduled these last couple days:
Monday is a regular schedule with dismissal at 12:00 pm for TK and K and 2:30 for 1st-8th grades. We will have Field Day from 8:15-10:40 for TK-5th and 10:50-11:30 for middle school. Field Day activities will include disc frisbee golf, corn hole, cup stacking, limbo, bowling, and more. There will be hydration stations set up and run by PTO volunteers, and students will cool down with an otter pop! Please ensure your student is prepared for extended time outside (sunscreen, hat, shoes, etc). If you'd like to help with the water stations, please reach out to PTO. Monday afternoon our 6th & 7th graders will attend their Trimester 3 Awards assembly at 1:45 pm.
Tuesday is a minimum day with dismissal at 11:25 am for TK and K and 12:00 pm for 1st-8th grade. Our 8th Grade Promotion will take place at 8:45 am in the MPR. Students are encouraged to dress nicely for this event. All are invited to attend and celebrate these students! 8th grade is in need of donations for our promotion breakfast and reception on the last day of school. Traditionally, parents have provided: juice, muffins, bagels, cream cheese, fruit, donuts, cookies, cupcakes, bottled water, and paper products. If you are able to provide anything, please email Mrs. Pelley at nancy.pelley@sanjuan.edu. Donations can be dropped off the morning of June 4th to room C-2. We appreciate your support of our amazing 8th graders.
Kindergarten has a promotion assembly at 10:00 am in the MPR.
Yearbooks were passed out to students who purchased them on Tuesday, May 28th. We have a limited number of extra yearbooks for sale on a first come, first served basis. Yearbooks are $35 (cash only) and can be purchased from Mrs. Pelley in Room C-2 or in the Office. Thank you for supporting the yearbook class!

✅ Woodside School Site Council
The School Site Council (SSC) is intended to be a decision-making body that represents all stakeholders of the school community. The school principal, teachers, other school personnel, parents and community members make up this group. We would like to send our appreciation to this year's council members: Nicole Goss, Tenesha Caudill, Ken Kruse, Tana Price, Karla Gonzalez, Gerell Elliott, Lyn Chapman, Rita Holverstott and Al Fox. We also appreciate the school and parent members that attended most meetings: Deanna Victor and Ciara Compton.
It is looking like we will need two parent positions on School Site Council for the 2024-25 school year. If you're interested, please reach out to Principal Wahl and look for the nominations and voting information at the beginning of next year!
Highlights of Last Week
TK Recycled Fashion Show and Awards
Our Transitional Kindergartners strutted to the end of the year with an assembly that featured vests and dresses made from recycled paper, songs and movement, and awards. What a fun end of the year celebration of their growth in becoming Woodside Cougar students!
Inflatable Costume Race
Woodside staff joined in the recent trend of surprising students with an Inflatable Costume Race. The smiles, cheering, and laughter added to our joy for the end of the year! Click the video links for a snapshot of the Inflatable Entrance and Racing.
Peer Mentors at Recess
One of our prototypes this year was our Middle School Peer Mentors, supervised by our Wellness Center team Mrs. Garboushian and Mrs. Roenicke. Throughout the year, these students were engaged in leadership and connecting activities on the campus. These students were challenged to be role models, learning to follow through on commitments and show agency in getting work done. They took this leadership to the playground at recess, guiding and leading younger students with four-square, kickball, and jump rope activities!
