Sundays From The Mesa # 19
January 6th - 10th
Principal's Message
Happy New Year Alta Mesa Families! Welcome to 2025! I hope you and your family had a wonderful winter break. We are all excited to see our students back on campus on Tuesday, January 7. It is a 4 day week to start out the new year.
Tomorrow, Monday, January 6th, the Alta Mesa staff will return to work and attend professional development in areas of social emotional learning, math, CPR, and so much more to get ready for our students to come back on Tuesday!
As we enter the second half of the school year, we continue to focus on individualized goals that each students has. One way you can be a part of your child's education is to ask them what their goals are and if they have any personal goals at home. Often with the new year, resolutions are proclaimed. I challenge you to take it a step further and set a goal to fulfill the resolution. When setting goals keep them simple, give them time frame, and know how you know you have completed your goal or how you will track it. Some examples could be by March 1st we will increase our family dinners from 1 night a week to 4 nights a week. To do this we will set aside time weekly to discuss our calendars and events to ensure we have prioritized family dinners or maybe by March 1st we will decrease our time on the screen from an hour to 30 minutes per evening to learn a new game as a family.
- 4/5 Basketball Tryouts UPDATED! - Boys Basketball tryouts will be Wednesday and Friday this week from 2:30-3:30. Girls Basketball Tryouts will be Wednesday and Thursday from 2:30 - 3:30. All permission slips need to be turned into the office prior to the first day of tryouts.
Looking forward to a great second half of the school year! Thank you for all your continued support!

LEADERIZE Alta Mesa
For January and February, we’re focusing on Habit 4: Think Win-Win! At our school, we believe in creating a culture where everyone can succeed. This habit teaches students to look for solutions that benefit everyone - whether they’re working with classmates, teachers, or friends. By thinking win-win, we can build stronger relationships, solve problems in positive ways, and create a community where cooperation and kindness thrive. Let’s encourage our students to embrace this mindset at school and at home, helping everyone feel valued and successful!
