2024-2025

From the Principal
Dear Charger Families,
We are just one week away from a much needed Thanksgiving Break! I hope during this season of thankfulness we reflect on what we have and are grateful for it. For me, I am thankful for my family, friends, my home, and having the best job leading/serving students/staff at BMSS! I encourage you sometime this week, whether in the car to/from school or at the dinner table, ask your child what they are thankful for and share with them as well!
Jackets/Lost and Found:
As the weather begins to change, please make sure you write your child's name on the inside of their jacket....somewhere. We collect MANY jackets each year and a majority of them have no markings indicating who it belongs to. Prior to Christmas Break, we will be donating the missing jackets, water bottles, and lost and found items to Hill Country Daily Bread. Please remind your child to check the Lost and Found in the cafeteria or if it is a smaller item, check with the front office.
Blankets:
We have had several students bringing blankets to school to wear as a 'jacket'. Please have your child leave their blanket at home. If we see students walking around the hallway wrapped in a blanket, we will ask them to put it away in their backpack or turn in to the front office until the end of the day and your child can pick up on their way home.
After School Dismissal: Movie Theater:
The manager at the movie theater next door has asked us many times if we could please share with parents not to pick up their child from their parking lot at 4pm. We wanted to make sure you are aware of their request. We have had many parents reach out to us upset that we did not let their child walk to the movie theater. Please understand we are trying to be a good neighbor and support their request the best we can. Thank you for your patience.
8th grade field trip: Newks Ranch:
Thank you PTO for sponsoring our 8th grade field trip to Newks Ranch. Our 8th graders had a great time team building and climbing the different ropes challenges. It was encouraging to watch students climb only half way up a pole (harnessed in of course), yell down and say they are scared, and then an army of their friends cheer them on as they pressed forward to take on the challenge. I'm really proud of our kids step out of their comfort zone and try something new and work with students they typically wouldn't work with to solve a challenge.
Have a great week!

From The Nurse
As your 6th grader receives their 11/12-year old vaccines this year, please remember to turn in an updated shot record to the school nurse. These vaccines are required for 7th grade, so let's get ahead of the game! Thank you for helping us keep our records up-to-date and our students healthy!
On a side note, donations of feminine products would be greatly appreciated.
