A Message from our Principal & Instructional Coach

As you know, last Friday (November 1st) was a professional development day for our staff. Our Hawks View teachers and specialists spent the morning diving deeper into Student Engagement and the ways students make meaning of their learning. Their conversations and dialogue around student engagement were so thoughtful and insightful…it was a great way to spend the morning! During the afternoon, teachers had options of sessions they could attend. Many of the sessions revolved around our new literacy curriculum. Teachers had the opportunity to explore assessments at a deeper level, learn about intervention options and have discussions around what to do with all the data they receive. Having the opportunity to meet together to learn and grow is such a valuable part of being an educator!

Lost and Found

Our lost and found is overflowing with sweatshirts, jackets, water bottles, etc. Please remind your student(s) to go by and check for lost items. If you would like to come in and look, you are welcome to come in after the kids have left for the day at 2:30. All unclaimed items will be donated at winter break.

When to Keep Your Student Home

Flu season is around the corner and we would like to remind you of the guidelines that the district follows for keeping students with symptoms out of school. Copies of this form are available in the office.

Health Room Borrowed Clothing

If your student comes home in clothing borrowed from school, please launder and return the clothing so we have it available for other students that may need it. We have a very limited supply of extra clothing, so we appreciate the return of borrowed items.

After School Change of Plans for Students

Please notify the office prior to 1:30 if you have a change of plans for your student(s) after school. Teachers often don’t have time to read emails during the day. Office staff will send notes to the classrooms to notify your student and the teacher of the change in plans.
