“Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Mark 9:23
Dear HFRCS Families,
We have had quite a lot going on here at Holy Family and it continues to be exciting for the next couple of days. It all started with the solar eclipse on 4/8, we had a special visit from Bernadette Dougherty on 4/9, the annual book fair was last week, Brittany Boyer from ABC 6 News visited our 6th graders (and they made it on the news!) and a magic show for PreK & K last Friday, and yesterday we had Grandparent’s Day with our monthly mass as well as students singing the national anthem at the Blue Rocks game! We have a parent meeting tomorrow night at 6pm in Degnan Hall. This week wraps up with the annual Spirit Stroll on Friday.
We have some important announcements and updates below, so please make sure you take the time to read everything. Just another reminder that students can work on their i-Ready My Paths at home. This is a great opportunity for them to receive some extra instruction that is catered to their “glows” & “grows.” I am always happy to meet with any families who would like to discuss their child’s progress with the program.
As always, thank you for your support and dedication to Holy Family and catholic education. Our school would not be what it is without you, our amazing families.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you,
Mr. Elia
Spirit Stroll
Our annual Spirit Stroll is this Friday, 4/19/24. The students wear their Spirit Stroll shirt and gym shorts/pants. Please remember to fill out the Google Permission Form, otherwise your child(ren) will not be able to participate and be left behind. The logistics and permission slip link is listed below. Another big thank you to HSA, Ms. Wylie, and Ms. Sweet for organizing this fundraising event!
All families and friends who would like to join us and walk with your child, are welcome. You will have to arrive at Degnan Hall at 12:15pm to sign in. We will call each grade as they leave for you to join their group as they leave out the CARES door. Families and friends will wait in Degnan until your specific grade is called. Please note, you will not be able to join us without reporting to Degnan to sign in.
Please make sure you arrive no later than 12:30pm to ensure you are able to sign in and not miss your child's group. We cannot hold up the line or wait for anyone who is running late.
8th grade leads the way and then we proceed in descending order. PreK K leads PreK - K in a shortened, modified walk in ascending order. Everyone returns to Degnan for water ice and the announcement of results of fundraising. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Progress Reports
I cannot believe that we are halfway through the 3rd trimester already! That means progress reports are coming. They will be in the Friday folder next Friday, 4/26/24. This is always a good time for students to keep up the good work or kick it into high gear to improve and earn the grades they deserve. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding progress reports.
Holy Family goes to the Wilmington Blue Rocks Game
HSA has always done and continues to do a great job of organizing events and activities for our students, families, and teachers. They were able to give our students the opportunity of a lifetime by both singing the national anthem and participating in starting lineups and pregame activities at the game last night. Ms. Hoey also did a great job of practicing with the students for the past couple of weeks to make sure they did an excellent job and boy did they! Thank you HSA, Ms. Hoey, and the students and families who participated in this great opportunity.
Grandparent’s Day
Yesterday was such an amazing day for our students and their families. Students made their grandparents mementos and were able to attend mass together with refreshments afterward. It was a truly special event to see the faces of all the grandparents and students enjoying the time together.
Brittany Boyer Visit
Ms. Walton organized a special visit from Brittany Boyer of ABC 6 Action News to the 6th grade students. She answered all the questions the 6th graders had and they enjoyed talking about the weather since they just finished a unit on the content. We even made the 12pm news as well as the 5:00 news! Our students always shine and make Holy Family proud!
Yearbook
Attention HFRCS families!!!!. Ms. Lake, Ms. Magann, and the 8th grade students have been working hard getting it ready and they need your help with pictures. HSA
As we approach the end of the year, I have to recognize our HSA, Ms. Cacciatore (President), Ms. Waters (Vice President), and Ms. Peterson (Secretary) for all of their hard work and dedication to the school, students, teachers, and families. They help make our school a better place by organizing fun events, fundraisers, and volunteering so much time and effort. We greatly appreciate all you do!

Reminders about Re-Enrollment:
Holy Family Regional Catholic School is now utilizing a "Continuous Enrollment" concept for students enrolled in our school. Continuous Enrollment assumes that once enrolled, a child will continue their education at Holy Family until graduation from eighth grade. Since most of our families remain year after year, this streamlines the enrollment process by reducing time and paperwork for parents and the school staff.

Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) Tax Program
We were so lucky to have Kevin Kelly from the Foundation for Catholic Education present at our Back to School night about the EITC Program. This is an opportunity for individuals like you to send PA State Income Tax money directly to our school instead of Harrisburg. If you have the completed commitment form, please send it directly to Kevin Kelly (kkelly@foundationfce.org). The link for the form is below and a copy of the form is also attached to the dojo post.
COVID 19 Policy Update
At Holy Family, our number one priority will always be the safety of our students, staff, and families. After careful consideration and speaking with the archdiocese, we are moving forward with updating our COVID Policy. As of today, 3/15/24, our COVID policy is included with other respiratory illness procedures. They are as follows:
The person cannot return to Holy Family until he/she is fever free, without the use of fever-reducing medications, and their symptoms are improving overall.
Return dates and the enhanced precautions upon return would be determined and/or confirmed by our nurse.
