Raptor Report
9.20.24
Dear Riverview Families,
Family partnerships are one of the keys to our success. One of those important partnerships extends to families coming to school on special occasions to have lunch with students. We always love to see guardians here at Riverview! With recent events around school safety and with guidance from our security department, we want to share some updates to Riverview's lunch visitor process. Our goal is to ensure everyone's safety and smooth and efficient lunch operations, while also honoring families who want to have lunch with their students.
Starting on Monday, September 23rd, we will have new procedures:
- All lunch visitors will have to sign-in and check-in with an ID (on the camera) before having lunch with students. We want to be sure that we verify everyone's identity each time they enter the building.
- There will be designated tables (along the library wall) to sit and have lunch with your student.
- If you bring outside food, that food cannot be shared with anyone other than your child. There are food allergies or dietary restrictions that you may not be aware of.
- Families cannot go outside to recess with their students. Recess is a time for students to play with friends and continue to grow socially. Additionally, it is a safety liability. Once recess starts, please help your child clear the table and sign out of the building.
Please reach out to me if you have any questions.

Parking/Drop Off
We understand that dropping students off in the morning can be a challenge. I want to provide a friendly reminder. Please utilize the "hug 'n go" line to drop students off at school. Also, we cannot use the northwest parking lot nor the bus loop for drop-off purposes because it is a safety issue. We have asked our custodial team to place cones to block off the northwest parking lot, so do not move those cones aside.
Please also DO NOT park in the entrance to our "hug 'n go".
We understand that we are all in a hurry every morning, but safety is our top priority, so please ensure that we are utilizing the appropriate drop-off location.
