Newsletter | Term 1 | Week 8 | 21 March 2024
"O Saint Joseph, do assist me by your powerful intercession, and obtain for me from your Divine Son all spiritual blessings, through Jesus Christ, our Lord, So that, having engaged here below your heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most Loving of Fathers." Amen.
Principal's Message
Welcome to Week 8!
Yesterday, we celebrated the Feast Day of St Joseph with Mass as a school community. As a significant figure in the Church's history and patron saint of families, fathers, carpenters, and expectant mothers, we look to St Joseph's example of dedication and faithfulness. We ask his intercession on our work this week.
Well done to all our students in Years 3 and 5 who have completed their NAPLAN testing. NAPLAN gives the school and parents valuable data in tracking student growth and learning, and allows us to plan for future learning goals and foci. In Term 2, staff will meet to analyse student data and plan further learning opportunities to extend out students learning. Like any assessment that students complete, our encouragement is simply to try their best.
A special thank you to Mr Ralph, Sacred Heart School Staff, and volunteers, who helped make our 2024 Faction Swimming Carnival a success. The water and wind may have been cold, but the cheering and encouragement on display was warming to all. Congratulations to Jacoby Faction who secured victory via the last race of the day.
Congratulations to the small team of swimmers representing Sacred Heart at the Interschool Swimming Carnival tomorrow. The team will travel to Bayswater Waves Aquatic Centre and we wish them all the very best.
I would like to announce that Mrs Madison Burgess has been appointed a short-term contract for Year 2 for Weeks 1 to 4 of Term 2 as Miss Palmieri takes some leave for her wedding and honeymoon. Mrs Burgess is an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher who will ensure the continued learning of our Year 2 students. We welcome Mrs Burgess and extend our congratulations to Miss Palmeiri.
Sacred Heart School is seeking to employ an energetic, enthusiastic, and passionate Education Assistant to join our staff from Term 2, 2024. A detailed role description and information on how to apply is available via the CEWA jobs portal.
And lastly, a special congratulations to Satria in Pre-Primary who welcomed his baby sister Srikandy this week. Congratulations to the Mosen family.
Have a blessed weekend ahead.

2024 Sacred Heart School Faction Swimming Carnival
School carnivals are a huge undertaking and require incredible amounts or organisation, effort, and time from both staff members and volunteers. Thank you for taking the time to complete this anonymous survey regarding our recent carnival. For a number of reasons, we will not be able to act on all feedback, but we appreciate school community insight into the event.

Canteen News
Our canteen operates each Wednesday pending volunteers. Hours: Wednesdays – 9:00am to 1.30pm. Even if you can only spare an hour or two. This makes such a difference! Maybe you could help with a 9:00am to 11:30am or 11:00am to 1:30pm shift. The Term 2 Roster is up outside the Canteen. We would love to see the roster covered before the start of next term.
Please Note: For the ease of Canteen operations and our volunteers, Quickcliq is the preferred method for ordering recess and lunch. Please see instructions below to assist with set up and ordering online. Being the end of term we will have limited stock of some items. Quickcliq menu items are updated each week accordingly.
