Jetliner
News From The Elementary Office. May 2024
A MESSAGE FROM THE ELEMENTARY OFFICE
Dear Parents and Guardians,
It's hard to believe we are in the home stretch and in 12 days the 23-24 school year will be in the rearview mirror. I can't thank you enough for your support, encouragement, and feedback this year. Together, we have accomplished great learning, learned from one another, and had fun along the way.
I intend to send the Jetliner each month throughout the summer to keep families up to date on the work that is being done for next year. Mr. Reilly and I will be working with our staff to make adjustments to our handbook, procedures, and instructional practices based on what we learned this year. It is our desire to fine tune our work each year so that ACES continues to be a top-notch school.
I welcome your thoughts, questions, and suggestions to help support us in this process.
You may contact me via email anytime this summer at mccullom@accs.k12.in.us
Warm regards,
Mary McCullough Elementary Principal

COUNSELOR CORNER
May is Mental Health Awareness Month!
May is recognized nationally as Mental Health Awareness Month to raise awareness and promote mental health resources. Taking care of our mental health is important for us and our children. Here’s some information about how you can support your child’s mental well-being.
Listen to your child- to the big things and the small things
Do something together that your child enjoys
Set and enforce boundaries around technology
Give your child meaningful praise
Don’t be afraid to seek professional help
We encourage students to show their support of Mental Health Awareness Month by wearing green on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.
As the end of the school year is upon us, Mrs. Rhymer and Ms. Megan would like to thank the parents for the opportunity to support their children throughout the school year.
Have a wonderful summer and we look forward to seeing the students in August.

FROM THE NURSES' CLINIC
The end of the school year is quickly approaching. Please remember to pick up any over the
counter medications that were brought in for your child. The clinic will not store any medication
over the summer. If the medication is not picked up by to the last day of school, it will be
disposed. If you would like your child to bring home their Over the Counter medication, please
provide a handwritten note stating it is OK to send home with the student. No controlled
medication (narcotics, Ritalin, Focalin, etc.) may be sent home with a student. The
parent/guardian needs to pick these medications up themselves.
Be sure your 5 th grade student schedules their shots for entering 6 th grade. These shots need to be
completed prior to the 1 st day of 6 th grade. The vaccinations required include: 1-Tdap, 1-
meningococcal (MCV4), and Hepatitis A -2 shot series. You can return a copy of the updated
shot records during registration or email it to bargerd@accs.k12.in.us.
If your child has borrowed any clothes from the nurse’s clinic this year, please return them to
the nurse. Hope all of you have a safe and fun summer. See you next school year!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
We are in need of volunteers for our May 15 Day of Awesomeness. Students will celebrate the success of the year with snow cones, games, and large inflatables to play on. You must have an approved background check to volunteer. Slots are limited, so this is a first come first serve sign up.
