Students and staff have been busy the last two weeks practicing school routines and learning about school safety. This month we practiced three safety drills including a Fire Drill with The Palatine Fire Department, a Bus Evacuation drill, and a Hold drill. GMS students did a great job listening closely for directions and making sure to follow their teachers so they knew what to during the drills. Way to go Tigers!
Last week our PTA hosted a Walk to School Event and Thunderbolt our mascot was there to say hello. Students were so excited to get a high five or a hug to start out the day!
Save the Date: PTA Fall Fest will be held on October 18th. 6:00-8:00.
Halloween
This year, Halloween (10/31) falls on a Thursday. As in years past, GMS students will have the opportunity to dress up and participate in a parade. Specific details regarding Halloween festivities will be coming in a separate communication later this week. Be on the lookout for this Halloween communication.
