Tall's Tuesday Tidbits
August 20 - 30, 2024
From the office of Superintendent Carol Tall
Welcome to the first edition of Tall's Tuesday Tidbits, a bi-monthly newsletter that will include a message from me and highlights from around the district. My first opening of school as Superintendent was so exciting and inspiring for me. August 7, 2024 the doors of campuses were opened to welcome all our students back to campuses. It brought back memories of my first day entering school as a kindergartner at Crowley Kindergarten. I experienced many of the same emotions visiting campuses that week as the new Superintendent. Feelings of excitement, anticipation. and yes maybe feelings of apprehension thinking about the impact of educators on our students' lives. No school year starts without a mix of emotions, but I look forward to seeing the impact on education in Acadia Parish after all the preparations that our school staff have made to prepare for this school year.
I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to all of our stakeholders in Acadia Parish who make the commitment to choose our system to provide instructional excellence to our students. It takes everyone in our village to educate our children - the educators, the families, and the community.
I'm so proud to say that we had a smooth start to the 2024-2025 school year. That doesn't mean it didn't come without some slight challenges. However, school and district administrative teams are diligently working to address those challenges to the best of our abilities. Again, I would like to thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work through some challenges.
One important request as Superintendent is for parents and students to keep education at the forefront and to strive diligently to make sure attendance is a priority. Learning cannot occur if your child is not visible in a seat everyday!
