Boosterthon Weekend Challenge
This weekend we are issuing a special challenge to help Bryan Road Elementary reach our $30,000 for a new innovative outdoor classroom space. Check out MyBooster.com for details! đź‘€
Here's how your family can make a big difference:
1. SIGN UP your student(s) on MyBooster.com today.
2. SHARE with your family/friends using the SHARE tools on MyBooster.com
3. GIVE a donation.
Tip for This Weekend
The easiest way to ask for a donation is to create a Student Star Video. Just upload a photo of your student on MyBooster.com and create a fun video starring them to share with family and friends!
Thank you again for supporting our class and school!
Fun Run Safety
In support of our student and staff safety, we ask that only board approved volunteers who have signed up for the event plan to be on campus for our October 9 Fun Run. Photos of the event will be posted through the school and PTA social media outlets.
Volunteer Renewal Window Extended to October 14
The WCPSS volunteer renewal window for the 2024-25 school year has been extended to Oct. 14. We encourage you to complete your volunteer renewal. First-time volunteers can view Volunteering in WCPSS to learn more about the volunteer application process.
WCPSS Recognizes Indigenous Peoples' Day as October 14
Indigenous Peoples' Day honors Native American peoples and commemorates their histories and cultures. The Wake County Board of Education, with support from the Wake County Indian Education Parent Committee, officially recognizes Monday, Oct. 14, as Indigenous Peoples’ Day via proclamation.
Gifted Re-testing for 4th and 5th Grade Students
The WCPSS AIG department seeks to identify all students who are eligible for and in need of academically and/or intellectually gifted (AIG) services. All WCPSS third grade students will be given the opportunity to take standardized group tests to help identify those eligible for services. Students who do not qualify for services as a third grader, but show growth and gifted potential, should be renominated and considered by the School Based Committed for Gifted Education for testing in the future. However, retesting students on a frequent basis is taxing. Only those students who demonstrate gifted potential should be renominated.
If your 4th or 5th grade student shows a potential need for gifted education, please complete the form by 12PM October 14th . Here's the link to the nomination form: https://bit.ly/GiftedReTest
Testing will be held October 21st - 25th.
*No study materials are provided for gifted testing.
3rd Grade Gifted Testing
Did you know that all 3rd grade students in WCPSS are given a gifted screener called the Cognitive Abilities Test? They have 3 practice sessions with the AIG teacher where they will learn to solve word analogies, number puzzles, and nonverbal puzzles. The screener test is scheduled for November 4th, 6th, and 7th starting at 9:30 AM. You can also email the AIG teacher Jessie Hollinger with any questions. (jhollinger@wcpss.net)
