BEAR Talk
September 2024
Great Start to the Year!
Welcome back RES Family! What a wonderful start to the year it has been. We have already seen BEARhavior cards filled, celebrations, growth and success as we kick off this 2024 school year. My name is Cara Schrag and I am the building principal. Here at RES we truly strive to make everyday a great day for learning and a great day to be a BEAR. I love seeing you all in carline and getting to know each and everyone of you. If at any point you have questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out. We truly believe FAMILY is the key to success here at RES.
Thank you for letting us spend each and everyday with your most cherished FAMILY.

Building Announcements
Early Dismissal Wednesdays
Please remember to move your pickup time to 2:30 EVERY Wednesday. This is so our teachers can work in their professional learning teams to continue the forward progress of your students.
Carline Reminders
1. Please do not drop your students off prior to 7:50am (unless they are a breakfast eater)
2. Please do not enter the parking lot for drop off or pick up.
3. Please remain in your car if you are in the carline, pull all the way up to your student and we will put them in the car. Our goal is to have students only enter from the right side of the car to avoid students running in traffic.
4. Please remain in line, do not pull up and cut off the line. This slows the line down and is very dangerous causing opportunities for a wreck.
5. If you need to physically drop off a student or pick them up, please park on the opposite side of the road and walk with your child across the road to the office.
6. Please be mindful of private driveways, and not block
Transportation Changes
Please make sure all transportation plans are worked through before school. We know emergencies happen, and in those cases, please call the office and have arrangements made prior to 2pm. Thank you!

Job Opportunity
USD 418 is hiring school bus drivers!
We have a desperate need for school bus drivers. Many times people are intimidated by the idea of driving a school bus. However, without exception, people that "take the leap" and learn how to drive a bus never regret it and always enjoy it.
The first question we get is: Do I need a CDL to start? The answer is: No, you do not. But, you will receive a CDL by the end of the process, and we will support you throughout the entire process to get your license. Plus, all the training is paid for at no cost to you!
