🐾 A Message From Principal Ohmer 🐾
Welcome to the very first edition of the Wildcat World—our new family and community newsletter! This will be another way for us to stay connected, informed, and engaged as we continue to grow stronger together. Whether you're a longtime Wildcat or a brand new member of our school family, we’re so glad you’re here.
We recently reviewed the results from our family survey, and I want you to know—we heard you. I am committed to addressing the concerns and suggestions shared. Two areas that came through loud and clear were the need for more volunteer opportunities and a renewed focus on the family and community traditions that mean so much to all of us.
As you know, this year brought its fair share of challenges—from hurricanes to state safety mandates—which prevented many of our cherished events from taking place. While we continue to adjust to new safety protocols like locked campus doors, we are eager to bring back the celebrations, traditions, and connections that make Lake St. George such a special place.
We're also looking at ways to strengthen our partnership with the PTA, and we are actively seeking more ways for families to be involved. Your time and support truly make a difference in the lives of our students and the success of our school.
As we approach the end of the school year, our focus is already shifting toward planning for the year ahead. We will soon begin creating class lists, carefully considering the best fit for each individual learner. We value your insight, and we will continue to honor legacy requests and take into account how your child learns best (see the form linked below).
Another important area of growth we're working on, thanks to your feedback, is meaningful homework and providing more opportunities for face-to-face conferences with teachers. We believe in creating meaningful, balanced learning experiences both at school and at home, and your input is helping us improve in all the right ways.
Thank you for your continued support, resilience, and partnership. Together, we will keep building a strong, welcoming, and joyful Wildcat community.
With gratitude,
Angela Ohmer
Principal, Lake St. George Elementary

🐾 Wildcat Staff Spotlight 🐾 Megan Grella 🐾
April is a time to recognize and celebrate the important contributions of Occupational Therapists and their role in helping individuals of all ages live life to the fullest. Megan was once a wildcat herself and is now giving back to our community as LSG's OT! She started with PCSB in 2011 and has dedicated herself to helping students achieve their fullest potential. Megan is a busy Mom of 4 children, which 3 have walked the wildcat hallways with one more to come. If you see her around campus, be sure to fill her "coffee mug" with thanx!
