Congratulations to all of our artists and teachers who participated in the annual HPISD District Art show! It was a rousing success, and we are so proud of all of our artists. Each year, community members from the Highland Park Town Library, the University Park Town Library, and the University Park City Hall select pieces to display in their spaces until next year's art show; click the document below to see the announcement letter of which pieces were selected!

Congratulations to HPHS's Camden Coale and Layton Braziel, who were honored at the Board meeting last week for earning the UIL 5A State Championship title in Cross Examination Debate! Congratulations as well to their coach, Mr. Whisenhunt!

Congratulations to the Highlander Band Indoor Drumline for their terrific results in three recent competitions!

The Indoor Drumline:

• participated in the WGI Percussion & Winds Regional competition at Burleson Centennial and placed 6th in open class!
• participated in the NTCA Percussion/Winds competition at Burleson High School and placed 4th in open class!
• finished up their season at the NTCA Percussion Championships in Forney, where they earned 7th place in the state open class championship in a very competitive field of schools!

This is HP’s second year performing as an Indoor Drumline, and we competed against many groups who have been doing this for years! We are so proud of our students and directors for their hard work and dedication!

Congratulations to the cast and crew of Raider Drama & MIS/HPMS Grease Musical: School Version on a fantastic show run! Sandy (Arabella Frizell), Danny (Brooks Buis), the T-Birds and Pink Ladies of Rydell High kept audiences groovin' in their seats as they performed iconic songs from this fun-loving musical. Thank you to everyone who attended the shows - we sold a record-breaking number of tickets!

HP Arts brought Mark Shelton to Hyer Elementary to perform his Strike, Scrape, and Shake performance. The 2nd and 3rd grade students loved learning about percussion instruments such as the doumbec, hammered dulcimer, and snare drum.
