Challenge #16
Challenge #16 will extend through the end of the school year. Remember, we encourage weekly postings from all staff members. This challenge aligns with our wellness initiatives and our core value of being positive even in the face of adversity. We want to team-up together and create an SG digital scrapbook using Padlet as the platform! The scrapbook will be a part of an upcoming staff celebration. Challenge #16 is simply this: each week submit something that you are personally thankful for, something inspirational, an enlightening moment, etc. It can be personal or professional. Whatever it is, it should come from your heart. Pictures, quotes, personal or professional journal snip-its are are all welcome ideas. We are emphasizing something from the heart that is aligned with wellness (promotes well-being or positivity). Please make your weekly submission at https://padlet.com/chadharrison/gp2c2qe9j6j4. Also, please be sure to include your name in your post.

4th Marking Period: Landing the Plane
MP 4 Grading and End of Year: Please revisit the infographics sent from Instructional Services attached below. This week's focus is identifying students receiving Incompletes and notifying counselors and administration of students potentially failing courses for the year. As always, continue to communicate with parents and students in these categories. A reminder that teachers should no longer assign any new graded assignments. Our priority moving forward is supporting and assisting students that are missing assignments (see the infographics below for additional information on how we finish strong). See the Fourth Marking Period Incomplete and Failure Notice forms. Please note that the guidance department and the administrative team will make the final approval on if a student will receive an Incomplete.
Classroom/Career Area Clean-up: Please see the classroom/career area clean-up schedule at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1IhbX0liMNNdwxvIBLe7Bmkibl-dsqovCZDAbUMYaK0Y/edit?usp=sharing. A reminder that procedures and social distancing guidelines must be followed at all times while on campus. Staff members must sign-in upon arrival and sign-out upon leaving. The sign-in/sign-out sheet is located in the main office lobby. Finally, please understand that face masks must be worn at all times. Some classroom furniture in some rooms has been packed and stored by Maintenance to accommodate their work flow. If you need to clean out your room and get personal things, please come at your scheduled time. If you don't need anything, then please stay safe at home. If you have questions, please your direct supervisor.
Curbside Pickup: The 10th/11th grade curbside pick up is scheduled for Thursday, June 4th. Students have a one hour appointment window from 1pm-4pm based on their career area. Career teachers are already signed up, but additional staff members may be needed to help with distributing items this day. Please see Jamie Williams's Wednesday's Schoology post to possibly sign-up and see the video for the outline of the day and explanation of jobs.
End of Year Checkout: A modified end-of-year 'checkout checklist' will be posted this week. Staff will need to complete the 'checkout checklist' before leaving for the summer. Classroom keys will not be collected this year.
Graduation: Details concerning this year's graduation, including a request for help will be posted this week. We are excited to recognize and celebrate our seniors!
Growth Mindset Awards: A reminder for staff members to submit Growth Mindset student nominees to department chairpersons. The department chairpersons will submit their department's chosen nominee with a brief paragraph highlighting their nominee.
CTE Notes: The reapplication process is underway and will continue throughout the next two weeks. Zoom meetings with career instructors will occur in the next several days. Career area assignments will be communicated to students no later then June 12, 2020.
SkillsUSA Grad Night Video: Please visit https://youtu.be/xV7-tqk67jc and go to the 6:50 mark to see the blurb about SG celebrating the students that would have competed in SkillsUSA Nationals.
Students Not Communicating or Submitting Assignments: In an effort to continually identify students that are not communicating or submitting assignments, please complete the google form at https://forms.gle/2L1ABPyVyza9nuA47. This document will be on-going and continuous while we are operating remotely because we understand there are numerous dynamics impacting students. Feel free to use this form to provide multiple updates on the same student. Redundancy is welcomed! The more real-time information from multiple instructors or even the same instructor, the better. Administration will monitor this list daily for changes and provide staff with a weekly update on students not communicating or submitting assignments.
Prior Week Students of Concern: Please visit Dr. Connor's most recent Schoology post or visit https://docs.google.com/document/d/1l8qeM946JncfIUE6fxNKIMqn3MQCZBrUUYurSWUlpSE/edit?usp=sharing for an update on students that we are attempting to establish communication due to lack of participation.
