A Note from the Office
Dear Parmenter Families,
As we welcome March, we brace for its famous "lion and lamb" weather—roaring winds one day, gentle sunshine the next! Just like the unpredictable forecast, this month is packed with exciting events and opportunities for our students and families.
First, a reminder that we have early release days on March 11 & 12 for optional conferences with teachers. Teachers will reach out to families they’d like to connect with, but you’re also welcome to reach out if you’d like to schedule a call, email, or in-person chat to check in on your child’s progress.
March also brings some spirited learning fun! Stay tuned for details on March Mathness and Mr. Kelley’s ST Math Challenge, as well as our March Madness Book Bracket, where all classes will vote throughout the month—thanks to Mrs. Souza for organizing!
It’s going to be a busy and exciting few weeks, and we can’t wait to see our students thrive as we roar through March together!
Be well,
Evan Chelman, Principal

Scholastic Book Fair: March 10-17
Get ready—the Scholastic Book Fair is coming AGAIN to Parmenter, March 10-17. This is a great opportunity to connect with your child over the thrill of bringing home new books to dive into again and again. Studies show that kids read more when they choose books for themselves. And fostering a love of independent reading leads to a wide variety of benefits—including academic success and improved mental health.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Book Fair:
Dates: March 10th March 17th - During class Library Times
Location: Parmenter Library
There’s even more info on our school’s Book Fair homepage:
https://www.scholastic.com/bf/parmenterelementaryschool
While you’re there, set up a Book Fair eWallet, the digital payment account that allows your child to shop for books at the Fair without cash. Then share your eWallet link so friends and extended family can add funds.
When you fund an eWallet, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to a giving initiative called Share the Fair™. Your contributions directly support our students who need help buying books
from the Fair.
ATTENTION ALL 5TH GRADE PARENTS!!!!
The 5th Grade Celebration Committee has begun to plan an awesome celebration for our 5th grade class! SAVE THE DATE: Wednesday June 11th- 5th Grade Celebration! (rain date- June 10th)
If you are a 5th grade parent, please email Amy Papagno at papagnoa@gmail.com. We are putting together an email chain of 5th grade parents. This is where you will receive information about the event- lunch orders, sweatshirt orders, t-shirt orders, volunteering the day of the event... you do not want to miss this information! Please email Amy at your earliest convenience!
Our current 5th graders will be the last class to graduate from Parmenter! Let's make it the best celebration yet! The current estimated cost per student is approximately $150. Our first big fundraising initiative is direct donations from our 5th grade families. If you are able, please use the QR code below, or the flyer in your 5th grader's folder to make a donation. Donations are completely voluntary, but we appreciate the help to make this a great celebration for our 5th graders! THANK YOU!

Our VIP & Me Dance is a special event for students and their VIP adult—a parent, grandparent, guardian, or special grown-up in their life. It’s not a peer-to-peer event, so no need for "dates"! We look forward to a fun night celebrating with our students and their VIPs! 🎉😊
