The Annual Kids Eat Smart Walk to Breakfast was held on Friday, October 18, 2024, and it was a HUGE success!

Together, the DCJA School Community raised over $10000 for the DCJA Breakfast Program! This money will be well used to provide a healthy breakfast to our students each morning. A heartfelt thank you is extended to everyone who supported this great cause! Your valuable contribution to our students is truly appreciated.

Whether it was trick-or-treating, face painting, pumpkin carving or posing for the photo booth, staff and students enjoyed lots of spooky fun as we celebrated Halloween! A special thank you to the Special Events Committee as well as the Student Leadership Group for planning this fun event!

On Friday, November 8, 2024, the DCJA School Community came together to honor and commemorate the sacrifices and achievements of those who served our country in uniform. During the annual Remembrance Day Commemorative Ceremony, poems, songs, and dramatic performances were shared with special guests from the local Legion, Cadet Corps & Ranger groups. The students of DCJA were considerate and attentive throughout the entire ceremony and certainly displayed the respect that this ceremony warrants. A special thank you goes out to all of the special guests who joined us for this event as well as to the educators, students and families who helped plan this important event.

There will be no classes for students on Monday, November 25, 2024, as well as Tuesday, November 26, 2024. Staff will be participating in Professional Learning on these days.

When students return to school on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, it will be Day 3 on the schedule.

Term 1 report cards will be released on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. Family-Teacher Conferences will take place on Thursday, December 5, 2024, from 1 PM - 4 PM & 5 PM - 6 PM. Please see this memo for more information, particularly on booking Family-Teacher Conferences.

There will be no classes for students on Friday, December 6, 2024. Staff will be participating in Professional Learning on this day.

When students return to school on Monday, December 9, 2024, it will be Day 3 on the schedule.

The 2024-2025 Kinderstart Program will officially get under way on Friday, December 13, 2024. As a result, there will be no classes for Kindergarten students on this day.

If you have a child entering Kindergarten in 2025 and have not registered for Kinderstart yet, it is not too late! Simply call the school at 891-1431 for more details!

As we enter the winter season it is important for students to dress appropriately for the weather. Our students spend time outside on a regular basis, especially during lunch times. Winter jackets, winter pants, winter boots, warm hats and warm mittens are suggested for everyone. Also, please note that an indoor pair of shoes is mandatory.
