The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane is a heartwarming play based on the novel by Kate DiCamillo. It follows the story of Edward Tulane, a proud and selfish porcelain rabbit who embarks on a transformative journey after being lost at sea. Through his adventures, Edward encounters various characters and experiences love, loss, and self-discovery. As he learns to care for others, Edward's emotional growth turns him into a more compassionate and humble being. The play explores themes of love, change, and the importance of connection.

Muse Magazine Accepting Submissions!
Do you have any art, writing, or creative works you would like to showcase? Well, Eagan High School’s student-led literature and arts publication, Muse Magazine, is now accepting submissions! The magazine will showcase the art and writing of Eagan students, including poetry, prose, essays, comics, fashion, illustrations, photography, and multimedia works—basically, anything you deem creative.
The deadline for submissions is on Sunday, March 9th. For more information and to access the submission form, click this link.

Reminder: Students Should Update Their iPads
Update your iPads!
Students should be on at least iPadOS 18. Updates can be found in Settings -> General -> Software updates.
Updating the iPad will be much easier at home when not using the iPad. It may take a bit for the update to download and install.

Food Drive Ends Friday 2/28
Our annual EHS Food Drive has started and will run from Wed. 2/19 – Fri. 2/28. All proceeds to The Open Door Food Pantry, right here in Eagan. Did you know they serve 17,000 people each month? Our PAWS classes will have a competition—winning classes earn a breakfast! Students can bring non-perishable items or monetary donations.

Workshop on Talking to Your Kids About Vaping and Cannabis
This workshop for parents and caregivers of 3rd – 12th graders will provide essential information and strategies for addressing the growing concerns around youth vaping and cannabis use, led by three experts in the field. Learn about the current nicotine and cannabis products popular among teens, the associated health risks, and how targeted marketing and social media affect youth behavior. The workshop will also cover the impact of recent cannabis policy changes in Minnesota and important information about legalization. By empowering parents and caregivers with knowledge and communication tools, the goal is to help you engage in effective conversations with your teens about the dangers of vaping and cannabis use.

You will have an opportunity to meet with representatives from over 115 area colleges/universities, community and technical colleges, professional schools and military organizations. This event is sponsored by the Minnesota Association of College Admission Counselors (MACAC). List of schools attending HERE Admission is free! MCA Testing Next Month and ACT/PreACT in April
The Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCAs) in Reading for grade 10 students and Math for grade 11 students will be administered on Wednesday, March 19 from 7:40 - 9:40 AM.
- All grade 9 students will attend classes at 7:40 AM as usual.
- All grade 12 students will report for 3rd period classes at 9:45 AM. Assigned work for periods 1 and 2 will be posted in Schoology by teachers.
- Buses will run at the usual times.
The ACT for Grade 11 students, and PreACT for Grade 10 students will be administered on Tuesday, April 15 starting at 7:40 AM.
- Students in grades 9 and 12 will have an E Learning Day on Tuesday, April 15th.
Congrats Nordic Skiers!
Last week the combined ISD 196 Varsity Nordic Ski Team participated in the State Tournament on February 12th and 13th after the Boys' team won second place in their Section Finals. Eagan competitors included Finn Gridley, Frank Cossetta, Caleb Lyon, and Leif Wolke. Dakota Hills skier Hannah Krocheski individually qualified. Great work, everyone!

Registration Open for Rugby
NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY. In rugby, everybody plays, everybody carries the ball, and everybody tackles. Rugby suits all body shapes and sizes, and teaches explosiveness, decision-making, and agility.
Practice begins on Saturday, March 1st with our free TRY RUGBY event, from 1-2PM followed by our first practice from 3-4PM at the West St. Paul Dome. The season runs through the end of the school year. More information, including registration links, may be found HERE.

Eagan Foundation Scholarship Applications Due Tuesday, Feb. 25th!
The Eagan Community Foundation scholarship application process IS NOW OPEN and will close the evening of February 25th at 11:59 PM. Every student is encouraged to submit an application!
We expect to have about 110 scholarships totaling over $130,000. Students can watch this brief video about the application process or head here to learn more and apply. Awards are based on a variety of criteria including community involvement, those with military parents, those who have persevered through hardships in life, participation in sports and school activities, academic merit and financial need.
Only scholarships that are based on financial need require a copy of the front page of your Student Aid Report (SAR) from the FAFSA. This can either be submitted in the application portal or emailed separately anytime by April 1, 2025.
Applications will be accepted until 11:59 PM on February 25, 2025. Visit www.eaganfoundation.org for details.

EHS Student ID Required for Free Admission to EHS Athletic Events!
Reminder: EHS Students MUST have their student ID to enter EHS athletic events otherwise they will be charged admission.
We will also have a QR Code available at the entrance, but advance purchase is strongly recommended to avoid any connectivity issues. Please be aware that there will be NO CASH SALES at the door. Tickets for all events will go on sale HERE at least 48 hours in advance of each event and are $7 for adults and $5 for K-12 students (plus applicable fees). Senior Citizens ages 62+ are admitted FREE OF CHARGE (and no ticket necessary) to all District 196 Regular season Home Games. Just notify the ticket person at the gate and have your ID available if requested. Eagan High School Students will be admitted free with a hard copy, current year ID only. No electronic copies allowed. NO Re-entry is allowed regardless if students have an ID or not.

How to Report an Absence
To report a student absence, please choose one of the following options:
- Complete the online form.
- Call the EHS Attendance Office at 651-683-6911 during the school day or 651-683-6915 to leave a voicemail.
- Send a note with the student to be delivered to the Attendance Office upon their return to school.
