Important October Updates and Upcoming Town Hall Meeting
Dear Families,
As we approach the end of October, I wanted to take a moment to recognize several significant events and initiatives that happened within our school community.
Principals Month: October is Principals Month, and I would like to express our deep appreciation for the dedicated and hardworking principals who lead our schools. They play a pivotal role in creating a positive learning environment for our students and supporting our incredible teaching staff.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month: October is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We encourage everyone to join in raising awareness and supporting those affected by this disease. We extend our thoughts and support to all families who have been impacted by breast cancer. We also want to thank everyone who participated in our Pink Out Day that occurred on Friday, October 13.
Unity Day for Anti-Bullying: On a related note, Unity Day, which took place on October 18, was a time to come together as a community to stand up against bullying. It was an opportunity for us all to promote kindness, acceptance, and inclusion in our schools. It was wonderful to see how our staff and students wore orange on this day to show their support for anti-bullying efforts.
Town Hall Meeting on November 13: Mark your calendars for an upcoming Town Hall meeting scheduled for November 13 at 6:00 p.m. at Elkton High School. This meeting will be crucial as we discuss the financial implications of the MD Blueprint and its potential impact on our school district. Your input and participation are highly valued, so we encourage you to attend or tune in virtually to this important event.
Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to working together to ensure the success and well-being of our students and our community.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey A. Lawson, Ed.D.
