π£ First catch, lifelong memories! Connecting w/ nature & learning a new skill.
Students from Stephen Decatur Middle School and American Dreamer, along with their families, took part in the Urban Fishing and Community Outreach Program at Dreamland Lake in Fairview Park. Sponsored by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, the event offered a hands-on fishing experience and time to connect with nature. Participants enjoyed learning how to fish, and some even caught their first one! To top off the day, the group shared a meal featuring freshly prepared fish cooked by staff.
Rockin' Out on The Hill! πΈπ€πΎ
The Johns Hill Rock Band brought the energy outdoors this week with a lively performance on the Hill. Students showcased their musical talents and entertained classmates and staff with a fun setlist. It was a great way to celebrate the season with music and school spirit!
π Third graders shined bright during their Solar System presentations
South Shores students selected a planet to research and shared fun facts, creative visuals, and engaging details with their classmates. The project encouraged public speaking skills and sparked curiosity about the universe. It was a stellar day of learning and discovery! ππͺ
