Titan Families,
Like many of you, I cannot believe it is already the last month of the school year. Start soaking in those "last moments" of the school year and please be sure to look at our many events ahead detailed in this newsletter so you can plan accordingly.
Celebrations from the Week:
- Our PTA sponsored and facilitated Field Day 2024, and as always, it was AMAZING! Thank you to our countless family and high school volunteers for their time, efforts, and funds to make that day happen. For many kids (and staff), that is the most memorable day of their elementary era, and we are a truly blessed community to have such a thrilling and cared for event.
- Our PTA also fully funded our campus having grade level t-shirts this year. If you are a contributing PTA member, thank you so much for making things like this happen for students!
- Vandegrift HS students in their athletic program came to campus last week to celebrate our students and remind them to take care of their minds, bodies, and others to end the year strong. It was great having Coach Sanders and his crew on campus to energize and inspire our future Vipers.
Important Announcements:
- We are in our Teacher, Nurse, and Substitute Appreciation Era! Check out the theme for the day, and join us in celebrating our staff! PTA and the administration team will also celebrate staff throughout the week. This is an opportunity for you and your child to do something in addition to those efforts if you wish to do so. Thanks in advance for supporting us in celebrating and appreciating our staff.
- Campus wide student led conferences are here! This was a hope and dream on our campus last year from our community, and our staff supported our students in making this come to fruition this year. We are incredibility proud of the progress your Titan(s) made this year. We hope you can come and celebrate it. Check out the info below!
- At our PTA spring event, Sophia R.'s family won her the "Principal for a Day" auction item! As acting principal, she declared that Wednesday, May 15, 2024 be Neon Day on campus. So, get your neon gear ready, Titan Community, and plan to shine really bright while she leads the campus with me.

- REMINDER: Punctuality is key to success both inside and outside the classroom- EVEN IN THE MONTH OF MAY. That being said, school starts at 7:30 AM. That means learning starts at 7:30 AM. Let's strive to be punctual. Throughout the year, students should arrive each day by 7:30 AM, ready to engage in learning opportunities created by their classroom teacher(s). Together, we can do this!
As we continue the remainder of the school year together, let's stay the course on our commitment to excellence and PRIDE. By working together, we can ensure that every day at River Place Elementary is an amazing, flourishing campus community!
