Good Afternoon, OMS Families,
While it feels like we have been in school for weeks, it has only been 21 days! This week our students focused on meeting hallway expectations so when we transition between classrooms we are not disruptive to those that are still working. Next week our focus will shift to bathroom expecations. Our bathroom motto is to be quick, quiet, and clean. We would appreciate if families would also review school bathroom expectations.
As the year kicks off, we schedule several routine safety practice drills to prepare for emergency situations. While no one wants to think about having an emergency at school, we want to make sure our students and staff are prepared. The goal is to make sure everyone knows what to do should an emergency arise. We encourage you to have continued conversations with your children about school and community safety. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.
Our first fire drill with the Arlington Heights Fire Department is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 1st.
As a reminder, there is NO SCHOOL on Thursday, October 3rd.
Enjoy the weekend,
Erin, Julia, and the OMS Staff
