September 5th: First day of school for half of Kindergarten

September 6th: First day of school for the other half of Kindergarten students

September 9th: All Kindergarten attends together!

September 19th: Title Kick Off Event & PTO Meeting 5:30-7:30pm

September 20: School Picture Day

A huge shout out to all of our students and families that were able to attend our open house on Wednesday night. We had such a great time getting to meet new families and seeing so many of you returning for the 2024-2025 school year. Enjoy a few pictures from the evening and we look forward to many more community events.

We will have our first family engagement event on Thursday, September 19th from 5:30-6:30. More information will be coming soon. This is a great time to connect with other families and staff. Please consider blocking off that time on your calendar and join us for a fun evening.

We are looking forward to a great 2024-2025 school year! We will be kicking off the school year on Thursday, September 19th with our first PTO meeting. We are excited to meet new families and share all the great things we do as a parent organization. We are also looking for more parents to get involved in our great organization and will share opportunities available in the coming weeks.

Student safety is very important to us. Please note there are no staff members to supervise children prior to 8:45 am. Therefore, students should NOT arrive at school or be dropped off at school prior to this time.

Arrival:

Arrival begins at 8:45. Students should NOT be dropped off earlier.

Walkers: Arrive between 8:45 - 9:05. Students may go directly to the cafe if they want breakfast, otherwise directly to their classroom.

Bus riders: Buses will be met by a staff member. Students eating breakfast exit first.

Car riders: Cars will pull forward in line at Door 4. At 8:45 students may exit the passenger side of the car onto the sidewalk. Students may go directly to the cafe if they want breakfast at 8:45, otherwise directly to their classroom at 9:00.

Adventures Plus: Students will be released at 8:45 and should go directly to their classrooms.

Dismissal:

Dismissal begins at 3:30 and can take approximately 10-15 minutes.

Walkers: Students will be dismissed at 3:30 and may exit the door closest to their route home.

Bus riders: Students will be walked to their bus by a teacher.

Car riders: Drivers should stay in the car.

Students will be escorted to door 4 by a staff member or patrol. They will stand on the yellow line in grade level order and wait for their car to pull forward in line.

Adventures Plus: Staff or patrols will escort students to A+ at the end of the day.

Parking Lot Procedures:

Our goal is for a safe and efficient drop off and pick up of your child.

In the morning: You may start dropping off students at 8:45AM.

In the afternoon: Students are dismissed and will begin coming out of the school shortly after the 3:30PM bell.

• Please wait in the car line and patiently drop-off or pick up your child. This process can take about 10 minutes.

• Use the entire curb area for pick up and drop off. The first car in line should pull all the way up to the garage.

• Do not get out of your car.

• Do not let your child cross the parking lot alone.

• Do not park on Flora Street and walk your child through the Flora Street entrance.

• Come to Open House on Wednesday, August 29th anytime between 4:30pm - 6:00 pm.
• Complete your back to school paperwork online. This is for new and returning students. View the tip sheet for directions and call 763-506-HELP if you need technical support.
• If your child will take medications during school day, please ask your doctor's office to complete the correct district form.

• Although school meals are still free, your family may still qualify for other educational benefits. Complete your application at ahschools.us/freereduced.

• Check out the Mississippi Volunteer Opportunities page to complete your volunteer paperwork and sign up for opportunities as they become available.
