NOMS Orientation & Open House

This is a chance for our new seventh graders to see the Middle School, ask questions, and feel comfortable before the 24-25 school year begins! Students will have a chance to go on a tour with their schedules, ask questions to our Assistant Principal, meet their school counselor, and learn about the Middle School. While students are busy with activities, parents are invited to an informational session in the District Auditorium with Josh Schaffer, the NOMS Principal. A form will be sent to parents who signed up in early August for a chance to ask questions.

This session will be recorded and sent to parents in case anyone is unable to make either presentation!

The Google Form RSVP below is only to help us get an approximate number of students who will be able to attend. Families can still attend, even if they do not RSVP. Each session of the 7th grade orientation will be the same, so students only need to attend one session.

8th graders can walk through their schedule with their parents or friends so they feel confident on the first day of school. Administrators and the school counselors will be in the halls to answer any questions or help as needed. There are no formal presentations or sessions, this is just a time where students can see their schedule and ask questions if they have any. This usually takes students about 20-30 minutes if they attended NOMS in 7th grade, so feel free to drop in at any time during the window.

Note: Parents of 8th grade students are welcome to attend the 7th grade session. The presentation will be sent to all NOMS families. Additionally, 8th graders that did not attend NOMS in 7th grade are welcome to attend the orientation as well.

Back to School Night is a night designed for parents to learn about your child's teacher and the curriculum for the year. We have heard feedback to try to make this accessible for parents as possible, so we are trying something new this year. We will hold our Back to School Night on Thursday, August 29th. This is the same night at the NOHS Back to School Night.

If you have a conflict because you would like to go to the High School Back to School Night and the MS Back to School Night, please reach out to me. I have worked with the HS to create a schedule that should allow you to do both. Again, we are trying this to limit the number of evening events our parents have to attend and will welcome feedback after the event to make it better next year.
