District Core:
· Our main purpose is to improve student academic achievement.
· Effective instruction makes the most difference in student academic performance.
· There is no excuse for poor quality instruction.
· With our help, at risk students will achieve at the same rate as non-at risk students.
· Staff members must have a commitment to children and a commitment to the pursuit of excellence.
African American Academic Bowl
Mr. Shelton and Mr. Edison led several of our Brothers during the annual Academic Bowl on Saturday. Our team made it to the Semi Final round before being defeated by the Fort Worth Young Men's Leadership Academy.
Learning from our Own Fathers
Mr. Dominguez brought a sincere story of overcoming extreme odds to attain the American Dream. Immigration, failures and language barriers are some of the obstacles Mr. Dominguez overcame. Brother Abraham and Ephraim were very proud during their father's speech.
International Career Day
We were privileged to host the 2015 International Career Day on Thursday, January 29th. Students from Cedar Hill, Woodrow, Townview, Madison and BOMLA enjoyed a day of powerful speakers. Thank you Mrs. Neely, Mr. Trejo and team for exposing our students to the leaders of today as they prepare for their future careers.
