News from Mr. Culbreth
Warrior Family,
It's hard to believe that we are heading into our fourth month of the school year! We continue to hear many great things from students, parents, and community members about the work being done at Lakeview Middle. We want to encourage you to continue to engage and partner with us to provide the best education possible for our students. We know that when parents and the community are involved, the likelihood of student success increases. So, please review the opportunities we have upcoming and contact us if you are interested in being involved in any way.
Our October Parent and Community Night went exceptionally well! Thank you to all who came out. It was a night full of fun, food, and good music from our very own band. I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Stacey Newell, Becky Karson, Adam Slaven, Michelle Privett, and all who helped put this fantastic event together. We hope to have more events like this one in the future.
We do have some exciting events coming up in the month of November as well. Our winter sports teams are starting their seasons. I want to encourage you to come out and support our Warriors on the court and on the mat. We know that we have families in our community in need and have set up food drives to help provide for those needs during the holiday season.
Please also remember that Thanksgiving break will be November 25th-29th.
As always, I want to encourage you to communicate with the school any time you have questions or concerns. We know that student success increases when there is a strong relationship between the school and the home. Please do not hesitate to email me at mculbreth@catoosa.k12.ga.us when you have questions and/or concerns.

HOUSE Dodgeball Tournament
November 22nd 2024
Anybody that isn't on a dodgeball squad will have to pay $2 to go to the championship game. Concessions will be sold during connections classes.
Altruismo will be looking to extend their winning streak to 3 years, but the other three houses will be hoping to bring home a big pile of house points before the tournament ends. The winning squad will get a chance to encounter that undefeated teacher squad!
AMISTAD Skating Trip
November 8th 2024
WINNERS of the 1st 9 weeks! Congrats!
Pickleball Club!
Every Thursday (starting the first week in November), pickleball equipment and teachers (coaches) will be at the Gilbert-Stevenson pickleball courts. Students may come to learn how to play pickleball or improve their skills at this extremely popular game. Lakeview equipment and staff will be present at the courts from 5 pm until 10 pm.
Students do not need to try out - parents will need to fill out a form in order for students to attend and participate in LMS-related activities. This is a club - LMS athletes can join and participate without it interrupting their extracurricular schedule.
Communities in Schools
On October 25th, Ms. Karson took a group of 8th graders to make marshmallow launchers at CCA. It was to support their science unit on force and motion. The CCA construction teachers and his senior students from HHS, graciously hosted and assisted my students. Mr. Pierce, the principal came out to give us snacks and visit. We were given a tour of all the classes available once they are juniors. The LMS students were in awe and really pumped up to go to CCA one day.
