D-A MIDDLE SCHOOL WRESTLER OF THE WEEK: CHASE KOLVE!
This week’s spotlight is on Chase Kolve, who has taken a leadership role by the horns. Whether it’s being a partner with a beginner wrestler showing them the ropes, pushing the limits in workouts, or being a helpful hand cleaning up the mats at the end of practice. Chase has an excellent work ethic and is not scared to work up a sweat and lead by example. Keep up the good work Chase!
BADLANDS SNOW-TUBING - 8th Grade Quarter Trip
Badlands Snow-Tubing, located in Hudson, WI, is going on their 53nd season! Spread out over 25 acres with 7 completely separate hills including several of the steepest, tallest, and longest in the country, it is a great place to spend a winter day! The D-A 8th Graders will spend all day January 23rd at Badlands enjoying the scenic area and some thrilling rides all while making great memories!

Looking for a rewarding job that fits your schedule? Our school district is looking for substitute teachers and paraprofessionals at each grade level. This unique opportunity allows a flexible schedule working as little or often as you want.
This month's Target Time focus is COMMITMENT & COURAGE. Mrs. Sabelko shares more information in this week's letter, and you can follow TILL360 on YouTube.
It has been wonderful to have a full week of school to see the students! As the quarter comes to an end on January 17, 2025 please take a moment to check in on the students’ grades for any missing assignments and opportunities to retake any assessments. Another piece of information that you will be receiving in the Saturday emails is attendance information, look this over carefully to talk with students about the importance of attending school and arriving at class on time. To help students we have installed digital clocks around the school that show the students down to the seconds the time that it is to get to class and arrive on time. This has made a positive difference in providing the information students need to know and now the responsibility is on the students to work on time management to arrive on time, any tips that you have found to be successful would be great to share with your kids too!
This week I would like to celebrate:
All the middle school students who are trying for the very first time wrestling, basketball, the Conservation Speaking Competition, and forensics! We wish you all the very best of luck with your season.
Mrs. Klapperich for going above and beyond to take a group of middle school honors choir students to UWEC next Thursday!
The custodians who work very hard and have an especially challenging task during the winter months with the cold and snow.
The new middle school coaches who joined our school staff this season to work with our students: Tucker Sorenson, Jay Bauer, and Samantha DeLong!
As the students improve their habits in the lunchroom, even earning ten minutes of gym free time when they have earned it with positive behavior, the next behavior I would like help in reinforcing is bathroom behavior. We have had an increasing number of toilets going unflushed and a friendly reminder that when flushing the toilets please hold the handle down for 3-5 seconds to make sure everything fully goes down can make all the positive difference in keeping our bathrooms up and running. In addition we have worked hard to get donations to stock the bathrooms with sanitary items that are needed during the menstruation cycle, but these are being taken and thrown into the toilets wasting the donations and impacting how well the toilets are working. We are very happy to provide these items as needed for all students and need them to use them appropriately.
