The Tuesday Notice
December 3, 2024
On Monday, our school embraced the cherished tradition of the Waldorf Spiral of Light. In the quiet darkness of Pine Hall, each child walked into the spiral, chose a candle at its center, and placed the candle along the path as they exited—adding their light to illuminate the way for others. This reflective and peaceful experience invites contemplation of the season's darkness and the light we each carry and share with the world. A heartfelt thank you to Aaron Smith, our Woodworking and Groundskeeper, and Anouschka Andersen, head teacher of Little Gnomes Nature School, for their dedication and effort in creating our beautiful spiral.

Giving Tuesday
Today is Giving Tuesday! GivingTuesday is an opportunity for people around the world to use their individual power of generosity to support their communities. On GivingTuesday – December 3, 2024 – the whole world comes together to give back in many different ways: through acts of kindness, gifts of voice, time, talent, or treasure. We would love for you to consider a donation to the Siskiyou School on this Giving Tuesday and help to support our school and Waldorf education in our community.
Winter Assembly
We are excited to see you at our all-school Winter Assembly. At Winter Assembly grades 1 through 8 will bring presentations of music, verse, and movement. The evening ends with the whole community singing together. All students are expected to attend and to come dressed in their best for this celebration.
IMPORTANT DETAILS:
- Where is it? Thanks to the generous contributions from some in our community, we are able to hold our assembly at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival's Angus Bowmer Theatre in downtown Ashland at 20 E Main St, Ashland, OR 97520.
- When is it? The program starts at 6:00 p.m. and is generally an hour and a half. Seating will begin around 5:45.
- Who is involved? Students from grades 1 through 8 with the help of our dedicated faculty and staff. Our kindergarten is not performing this evening and may sit with their parents. This year, because of our location, we're able to welcome friends and family to be in our audience.
Look for more details to come!
