Popcorn Sales Have Started!🍿🍿
Popcorn Sales Information by Mrs. Chhamunya
We started our annual Scouts Popcorn Sale, including StoreFront, Wagon, and Online Sales, two weeks ago, and we need your support to make it a huge success!
Our scouts have been working diligently and selling popcorn at StoreFront, but we have low participation for the Wagon Sale. We need your help to encourage more scouts to get involved. To add some excitement, we are offering an additional $50 cash prize to the top-performing scout if we achieve a minimum of $2,000 in popcorn sales by all scouts in the Wagon and Online Sales.
This initiative is crucial for promoting scout participation and helping them develop valuable skills.
Here’s how Scouts can participate:
Wagon Sale: Go to your neighborhood and ask for support by selling popcorn.
Online Sale: Go to your Trailhead app, click on the online tab, and share your unique page with friends and family. They can support you by giving donations or buying directly on the website. FYI, all orders will be shipped directly to the customers.
Thank you for your continued support!
Know my Scout- Tejas S.
Hi! I have many hobbies but my top 4 are Building things, Biking, Swimming, and Exploring. I like building because it gets creative like I have a room full of Lego. Biking is fun and makes for great exercise. Swimming also makes for good exercise and I like it. Exploring is fun and shows you many new places. My favourite subjects are Art and Science. Art also gets creative, that's why I like it. Science is really cool like Mentos and coke.
My last year's Homeroom teacher was Mrs. Kramer
I was in Pod 5D last year
My favourite flavour of icecream is Rockin Poppin cotton candy from Friendly's
Aryan R.'s Experience in Selling Popcorn
Fundraising for our Troop - Selling Popcorn
Selling popcorn is not only fun but also a learning experience. You learn various important life skills such as salesmanship, upselling, honesty, customer service, marketing, responsibility, accountability, and so on. When you sell popcorn, you get to practice salesmanship, which means learning how to talk to people and encourage them to buy your product. When you sell, you also get motivation to upsell, which is when you suggest they buy more or try different flavors to make their experience better and improve your sales.
Besides the above, selling popcorn helps you understand the value of honesty and good customer service. It is important that you are trustworthy so people want to come back, this essentially encourages scouts and gets them excited for the next sale. You must be helpful and friendly to make sure customers are happy. You also get to use marketing skills by figuring out how to attract customers, this is also known as visual merchandising. Along with the same, you learn about managing money and keeping track of supplies and inventory. Overall, selling popcorn helps you build many useful skills that can help you in the future.
Ah! One thing is that an adult leader is always judging you to do more! Personally, I am always excited to do more and it's the most fun part of the scouting for me as it is rewarding and earns me prizes and money towards my summer camp apart from spending time with my friends.
Colonial Bike Ride by Yatharth G.
On August 25th, from 3-6 PM, I set up a Scout Bike Ride at Colonial Park by the canal. The event was fun when our scouts gathered to enjoy the outdoors and show their biking skills. During the ride, one scout fell and got a small injury. I was amazed by how quickly the other scouts helped him using first-aid tips from the BSA Handbook. Their fast action showed how ready they were to help each other, which is what scouting is all about. The scouts worked well together and stayed positive even when things got tough. We also want to thank the adults who came along and provided guidance and support. Overall, the event was a great experience that showed how strong and united our scout community is.

Meirt Badges of the Month
Swimming Merit Badge
(Eagle Required)
The Swimming Merit Badge is a great merit badge to earn. It teaches scouts the basics of swimming and water safety and is great for scout who like to do aquatic activities. It is also an Eagle required Merit Badge.
Environmental Science
(Eagle Required)
The weather is very beautiful in late summer and early fall, the perfect time to earn the Environmental Science merit badge. This Merit Badge helps scouts appreciate the nature around them. This merit badge does require a lot of writing, so look out for that! It is also an Eagle Required Merit Badge
Wilderness Survival
The ultimate test of a scout's knowledge, abilities, and attitude is wilderness survival. Gaining the Wilderness Survival Merit Badge will teach you what to do in the unlikely event that you become lost in the wilderness and require rescue. Some requirements in this merit badge are building a fire without matches and creating your own shelter!
If you are interested in earning any of these merit badges, Talk to our scoutmaster about your interest and start working with a counselor!

"Follow Me, Boys" Must Watch Scouting Movie by Darsh D
This Movie is one of my all time favorites to watch. This Movie embodies the scout sprit. The movie is about the main character Lem, moving to a new town and Becoming the local troops Scoutmaster. The movie goes on to show to the troops adventures. Very good movie for to watch for your Citizenship in Community merit badge
