Chesapeake Science Point Elementary
Principal's Message
Dear Chesapeake Science Point Elementary Community,
I hope this message finds you well. As we gear up for an exciting Family Dinner Night on February 23rd, I wanted to take a moment to share some additional updates with you.
Family Dinner Night:
Family Dinner Night is quickly approaching, and we couldn't be more excited to come together as a community for an evening of food, fun, and fellowship. It's a time to strengthen our bonds and celebrate the wonderful diversity that makes Chesapeake Science Point Elementary so unique.
We encourage all families to attend and participate in this special event. Your presence will make it even more memorable. Please mark your calendars, and we look forward to seeing you there!
Enrollment for Next Year:
Additionally, I want to remind our community that we are currently enrolling for the upcoming school year. It has been a joy to meet with families who have won a seat in our lottery and are considering joining our school community. We are thrilled at the prospect of welcoming new students and families into our midst and are dedicated to providing an enriching and supportive educational experience for all.
As always, if you have any questions or need further information about either Family Dinner Night or enrollment, please don't hesitate to contact the school office.
Warm regards,
Tabatha Camacho Principal Chesapeake Science Point Elementary

Attendance
This attendance regulation/policy was shared with families during Dress Rehearsals in August 2023.
Attendance is critical to your child’s academic, social, and emotional well being. They miss much more than just classroom instruction when they are out.
If your child misses 2 or more days of school in a one month period, they are considered to be chronically absent. You will receive notices documenting your child’s attendance as we follow state-mandated processes for monitoring attendance.
Unlawful absences of 10 or more consecutive days will result in your child being withdrawn from the school
Clubs
Clubs dismiss promptly at 3:40. Please arrive at 3:40. If you are late more than twice, your child will not be permitted to attend club activities.
We understand that emergencies occur. If, for some reason, you will be late, please notify our front office immediately 443-883-3919.
Traffic Patterns
Please adhere to the one-way traffic rules at all times. This includes during arrival, dismissal, and enrichment pick up/drop off
New: If you are dropping your child off late, picking them up early, or picking them up midday, you will also need to adhere to the one-way traffic pattern
Morning and Afternoon Parent Line
Please be kind and courteous to each other in our parent pick up lines.
Please take turns merging from 2 lanes to 1
Follow the directions of all staff members
You must be on campus at 7:47 to go through the drop off line. At 7:48, Mrs. Schlegel and Mr. Chandler will direct you to park and walk your child in through the main office. You must sign your child in on the left iPad.
If you need a refresher on traffic patterns in the morning and afternoon, please click here.
If traffic is preventing you from turning left onto Signature Drive, please make a loop and line up in a queue along the curb, entering campus by turning right.
Bus Behavior Expectations
Please review the bus contract that you agreed to prior to the start of the year. You are responsible for the information in this contract.
Please familiarize yourself with the AACPS Student Handbook, specifically pages 22 & 23 of this document.
