Principals Corner
Dear Henry Families,
End of the school year TUSD and Arizona assessments are just about over for students. In May, this month we have many great opportunities to showcase student academic growth, OMA Fine Arts performances, our community BBQ, Field Day, and end of the year celebrations.
Also, this month our Character Strong trait is “Creativity.” Creativity has to do with using your imagination to create something new or solve a problem. Please take an opportunity to ask your student about how they are using creativity in their classroom, school and at home.
Our team greatly appreciates families keeping daily routines going strong, as we approach the end of the school year. Our teachers continue to stress the importance in following our Anna Henry 4 B’s- Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Kind!
With the outside temperature getting hot in southern Arizona, we are seeing many students in need of water bottles from home. Our school has three new water bottle filling stations that are equipped with water filtration. Please look around the house and send your student’s water bottle into school with them.
Our final day of school this academic year is on Thursday, May 23, 2024. Please be on the lookout over the summer in July for a parent letter and parent link message that will have important information for families about the 2024-2025 academic school year. Keep in mind Anna Henry is now a PreK- 6th elementary school. I encourage you to remind your neighbors and family friends to check us out for the upcoming school year.
Anna Henry is partnering with Jewish Family Community Services with a Step Up to Kindness Club that will meet after school two days a week during the 2024 -2025 school year. This club will be offered to students in grades 5 and 6. Please read over the attachments in our May newsletter that gives a description of the club offerings.
Respectfully,
Principal, Thomas Heminger
